I read all three books in less than a week! The story line is very interesting. A lot of men think women are into the books because of the "raunchy" factor, but what I believe is the ultimate attraction is Christian Grey himself. Isn't it every woman's fantasy to have a handsome, rich man totally in love with them? One who offers her the world, wants nothing more than to protect her, take care of all of her problems, and kiss away her tears......And to top it all off, he makes $100k/hour??? His vulnerability draws us in even deeper. You'd have to leave the sexual affliction in the story, but the explicit details could be left out and it would still be a great series. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, but only one who could accept the adult content.

I was a little dissapointed when I started the first book, however I too bacame sucked into the series. I am not a fan of the hard core sex genre however I thought that EL James description of 50's entire being was fabulous and I could not get through the 3 books fast enough. I read A LOT, and all types of genres and for me this was a nice reprieve from the drama, vampire or futuristic books I read. Well done and much more tastefully written than some of those ridiculous romance novels.

Very good read and very addicting. Don't plan on getting any housework done till you finish the books. I gave it four stars instead of five because by the time I finished the first book I started skipping over the sex parts. Too much was the same and those parts started getting redundant.

I think this book is fun for summer, ok it is poorly written but it is easy to read and fun, sexy.I liked it, waiting for the movie , wondering who is gonna play Christian grey

I liked the first book...but to be honest it got a little old after a while. By the end of the 3rd book, I'd had enough. I was drawn to the characters and kept reading because I wanted to see what their 'endings' were.

Was not sure what I would be getting into, but was intrigued by all the hype. Not really what I expected, not as graphic as I thought it would be. LOVE the characters and was hooked. I am book 3.

It is one of them books you can't put down. I read all three in four days. As for them making a movie, I think they should just leave the characters in the book. Not movie worthy.

Just started reading the book. I must say i was a bit shocked. So different than i expected. All myfriends are raving about the series so im going to read on and hope it gets better. I had a hard time putting the book down though.

I too jumped on the bandwagon to see what all of the fuss was about. I have read the first book and have started second and plan to read the third. Its been fun reading something that all the girls at work are reading. I have enjoyed what I have read so far! The relationship between Ana & Christian is relate-able except for some of the kinky sex scenes. :) Can't wait to see how it all works out!

I really enjoyed these series. It was a bit over the top, but overall it was a fun read. I think we all can use a part of Christian Grey in our lives. Looking forward to the movie.

I wanted to read these since I heard so much about them. I'm glad that I listened to a friend and gave it a try. I keep this review to this book strictly and not include the other books in the trilogy since I've read them all. I usually don't read this kind of stuff but I really enjoyed this book. It couldn't put it down and was so excited to start the second one once I finished. Its a bit far fetched if you ask me at how quickly it all moves and some parts get boring after reading it over and over but overall I think that book one was a good read. Not the best of the three books but not the worst of the three either.

I really liked this beginning book - I have read all 3. It is a very addicting/fast read. I enjoyed it - it was a sort of break from reality.

I really liked these book. I thought they were very entertaining. I have been telling all my girl friends they need to read them.

Quick and easy read.....nice "escape" from reality.

I read the whole series and while I did find it entertaining, I am not sure what all the fuss is about either. Yes, the sex scenes are steamy and inventive, but one can find steamy sex scenes in a lot of books that are much better written. The first book is the most poorly written, with stock phrases that are liberally sprinkled throughout the book. Everytime someone "cocked their head to one side", I wanted to throw the Kindle! That said, the story does draw you in and you want to find out what makes Christian tick. I think it has become such a hit because it is basically a porn novel that has hit mainstream and become "acceptable".
