This book is pretty racy, but it is labeled erotica, so you know what you are getting into. There isn't very much depth to it, but it's great if you are looking for something to read after the Twilight series, etc. It serves as a great escape for a stay at home mom! The main character, Ana, grows with Christian in more ways than one, and he in turn, grows with her. A great read.

Part of my 5 star rating is based on all the hype, and in a good way- there aren't many females I run into that haven't read the book, or wanted to, and it certainly is something to talk about. Now, what I really must criticize is the poor reviews that state the writing is bad. Really people- you aren't reading Pride and Prejudice or the average English Literature doled out to you in high school! This was written to seem real, and the dialogue is real. Ana is an editor and I will admit that some words used were new to me, although used in context, I got the jist. Their email titles were entertaining and pretty realistic as we live in a modernized world. And it was erotica, but even in some harlequin novels I've read, the word nipple is used excessively. I mean, how many different ways can it be said? "Mommy porn," yeah, I admit that my husband enjoyed that I was reading the series, women aren't visual like men, and this book was just that for females (we use our brain?). When comparing to Twilight, I really don't see comparison. In most romance/erotica there are two main characters, and yes, the world revolves around them, but I did like the underlying plot. How many millionaires probably did have an "f'd" up childhood and survived only to prosper? Probably more than I'd like to believe. How is it that the man always has to do the fixing? I enjoyed the book, I recommend the book, and if I had to compare it to something, it wouldn't be Twilight, it would be the movie Pretty Woman- on steroids.

Great book, When I decided to read it I wasn't sure what to expect. I hadn't heard any of the details just that it was a great book. I wasn't expecting the sex stuff but it was an interesting aspect. I haven't read the last book in the series yet but I will eventually.

I am in love with this series! If you can stand a litttle sexy talk, read this series!

Really great if you are looking for something to pass time, not informative at all, but finteresting when you think about it

I love it but I also think it is a little too much. I would never let a man treat me the way he does. But I love the details and plot of this series. It's addicting and forces you to keep reading them and thinking about it.

Oh. My. God. This book is insane - although insanely good or insanely bad, I honestly don't know. First of all, you have to be aware that this was spawned from Twilight fan fiction. That, in and of itself, has garnered some haters. The storyline isn't bad at all. It's the basic framework of most romance novels, with a dangerous love brewing between two individuals. However, EL James has made this story more... erm... "realistic" by making the topic about BDSM, instead of about vampires. Admittedly, Anastasia is a weak character, but that's a commonality with many novels of today. A lot of the lines are really cheesy; some are even cringe-worthy. Just... try to enjoy the book. This novel is extremely kinky. Yes, it really is. But every girl dreams of a Christian Grey, and oh my goodness, he fits the bill PERFECTLY. The only thing I would say: Beware. The topic is very adult, the writing is very simple, but the sex - it's intense. (And it starts on page 84 or something.) Shield your children's eyes! :) And enjoy..........

This book will never win any literary awards. Sometimes the grammar is poor and a word is misspelled. But if you want an erotic, passionate and toe curling novel that keeps you up reading until 3:00am, then this book is for you. Hot, hot, hot!

Never set and took the time out and read the book but my friends say its a real good book

I was so leary to read these books. But man are they good! The whole story line is crazy and you can't put the books down. They are intense but good

This book had so much hype and was talked about so much both positive and negative I had to read it for myself. Personally I really did enjoy it some lines they used over and over were lame. The story line is what kept me hooked. If you enjoyed this you will lovw the bares to you series by sylvia day.

I really loved the story behind this book, however it was written kinda poorly. I think a high school student could have written it. Hiwever the love story is wht kept me reading through the series.

The hype of this book from all my friends was over done. All around decent writing but left lots to be desired

I loved the series. It showed the depth of change within Chrisitan from the 1st to the end of the 3rd book. Could not put the books down and was finished within 2 weeks of reading.
