Phenomenal Book!!! This book was PHENOMENAL!!!! I could not put the book down. It took me less than 2 full days to complete the book. This book had many twists in it and I'm so glad to had the opportunity to participate in reading this book and sharing my thoughts as well. Thank to Shespeaks for allowing me to participate and share with this program!!! #shespeaks #looksaredeceiving #behindcloseddoors #ad

What?s Really Behind Closed Doors? OH. MY. WORD! To say that I was captivated and consumed by Behind Closed Doors is an understatement. This isn't even the normal type of book that I read - psychological suspense thriller - but I literally couldn't put this book down. On the outside, Jack and Grace Angel are the perfect couple - good looking, wealthy, respectable. Jack is a well-known champion lawyer for women who are victims of domestic violence and he's never lost a case. Charming Grace is a former buyer for Harrods, who now stays at home...and is never seen without Jack by her side. NEVER. What begins as the things that romance novels and chick flicks are made of turns out to be Fatal Attraction meets Silence of the Lambs. This is an advertisement for SheSpeaks/St. Martins Press

This book has quickly become my favorite book of the summer. I was so intrigued throughout the whole book. I loved how B A Paris used time to convey the story. The jumping from the past to the present really holds a readers interest and makes this book hard to put down. This book truly inspires the reader to feel something they probably never have before, pure dread. The reader can really relate to Grace as a person even though her situation may not be entirely relatable. B A Paris ends the book with a slight twist that we never see coming. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers. I received a copy of the book free from SheSpeaks in exchange for my honest review.

Emotionally Gripping and Hard to Put Down I received a free ARC of this book from SheSpeaks for their Behind Closed Doors book club. Once I started reading this book, it was really hard to put down. I had to read it all the same day. It is all from the viewpoint of Grace and the story goes back and forth from the past to the present to show how things began and where they are now, but it unfolds the story with the perfect amount of teasing the reader by only giving a few details at a time. Grace thinks she's met the perfect man who not only loves her, but also loves her sister Millie who has Down's Syndrome and will be coming to live with Grace full-time soon. However, soon Jack Angel's dark secrets are revealed to Grace and there looks to be no escape for her or Millie from Jack's warped plans for them. Will Grace be able to protect herself and Millie or will this man control them completely? You'll just have to read it for yourself to find out.

Great summer read Finally a book I don't want to put down! This is a perfect summer read for those busy moms who want to get lost in something other than play dates, messes, bedtime and counting down the days till routine comes back!

You Won't Want to Put This Book Down! I read this book in about 4 hours! This psychological thriller is a page turner and relatively short book. The story describes Jack and Grace who seem like a perfectly charming couple at first glance until the author starts revealing more details about their past lives and present activities. The story is told from Grace's perspective. The timeline alternates from past to present, which made it easy to read and helped to keep the momentum going. I don't want to give away too much, but let's just say that you never really know what's going on behind closed doors. After reading this book, I wondered if something like this could actually happen in real life. I shudder at the thought of this happening in real life.

A great Summer read! At the beginning of this Summer I started reading again because it is one of my favorite hobbies. I couldn't wait to start reading this new book because it sounded like something I would love to read. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it but after a few pages I could not put it down, and only did because I had to at the time. I found my heart beating faster and reminding myself that I had to breath as I read each chapter. The chapters bounce back and forth between present and past and I never knew what was going to happen next. I finished this book in just 2 days because I did not want to put it down. "I received this book for free from SheSpeaks"

Eerily Amazing Behind Closed Doors started a little bit slow and seemed like I book I wouldn't usually pick up. However, after a few chapters this books gets into it and I could not put it down. Jack and Grace are the perfect characters or so you think. Everyone is smarter and ahead of each other and you that you cannot predict the outcome of the story. Millie is amazing and I love how she ties the story together from beginning to end. B.A. Paris writes this book alternating between past and present to give a full and fluid story keeping you enthralled the whole time. The story line is amazing and makes your heartbeat especially when other characters such as Esther enter the scene. The way Grace is written is flawless and you can really connect with her a feel the emotions through the pages. She goes through so much and it truly takes your emotions on the ride with her. Jack is handcrafted and one of a kind. His character is so eerie and unknown even when you feel like you know, you don't. Millie is a breath of fresh air and a sort of relief throughout the story. She knows so much more than you initially think and she is such an amazing character. I love that the author gives Down-syndrome a different perspective than its ever been given and it is much appreciated. Behind Closed Doors in in a world of the high class but I never felt disconnected from it once it picked up. I do appreciate that initially it is deceptive though because it made me love it that much more. I wouldn't change a thing about this book except to wish that it were longer or never ending. This has been one of the best reads I've had in awhile. I would love to read more from B.A. Paris in the future her writing style is amazing. I already have people who cannot wait to get their hands on this book.

Loved it I loved this book. It had me hooked from page one. I liked it so much I read it twice.

I received this book for free from SheSpeaks. All opinions are my own, formed through reading the book. I love a great thriller and this was one. It kept me on the edge of my super comfy cabin chair the entire time. I stayed up pretty late reading even though we had to get up early the next morning. I didn't care. I loved it! This book certainly doesn't beat around the bush. You get a sense of dread and unease right from the beginning when Grace is describing the dinner party jack throws for new friends. There is a sense of fear and urgency in every move she makes. Jack is charming and charismatic. Grace seems like she would make a wonderful girlfriend, if you could ever get he chance to hang out with her alone. They are both extremely likable without seeming fake. That makes this story work so well. Then you get into the "meat" of the story. Let me tell you that this is NOT your typical "domestic abuse" thriller. No, no, no, this book goes beyond that. The mental games that are played in this book are incredible. Grace has very real reasons to fear for both herself and her sister, Millie. Jack is a wacko, no doubt! Because the synopsis gives a little spoiler I don't want to give too many details. I will just say that there are plenty of plot twists and this story is one that I feel is going to make one heck of a great movie! I can't wait to see it.

Sweet Revenge! I always say you never know what goes on "behind closed doors" and this book gets to the heart of that! I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'll just say a few things....Wow, engaging, thrilling, shocking, sweet revenge! I loved every turn of the page and couldn't stop once I started! And what an ending! I kept thinking "what would I do if I were in Grace's position?" I don't think anyone knows until you're in it and I hope I never am! But if I were, I would hope and pray for a friend like Esther....what perception and hero! She saw the signs and never gave up. And Jack....pure evil....tormented soul. I received this book for free through SheSpeaks and am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to read it and give this review. The author really delved into the world of domestic violence....no, this is not non-fiction but a look into a dark world that is a true living hell for those unfortunate enough to live it.

A "Can't Put It Down" Book This is the first book I've read in a long time. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. I read the entire book in 2 days. I loved the way it switched from present to past throughout the book. I was rooting for Grace the entire way. And Millie is my hero! My favorite quote is "fear is the best deterrent of all".

Unassuming but packs a punch! Perfection is only on the outside. My mom told me that many years ago when I was doing the normal child thing of being jealous of other people's lives. She told me that I have no idea what is going on behind closed doors. to be. I cant say I would have picked this book up at the library if I saw it on the shelf. The cover is unassuming but intriguing. I have long been a fan of stories that jump from present to past. I love the comparisons between the charters's emotions from the beginning to the end. And Grace most certainly changes. She falls in love with Jack immediately because he charmed her by being so nice to her sister Millie who has Down Syndrome. She was used to people in her life dismissing Millie like her parents so it was a nice change and he was very handsome. She believed he was way out of her league. Even in the first twenty pages I could feel the tension in Grace as she says all the right words at all the right times. It reminded me of the #maybehedoesnthityou hashtag. I could see he was controlling her which is nice irony since he was famous for taking domestic abuse cases and always winning. Then it just gets worse for Grace and dark. It was creepy but page turning. I do not like to give spoilers in my reviews but I will say that I read hungrily until the very last word. I was on the edge of my seat until the last page. I love that. I like being surprised. I like not knowing but sort of hoping. I found myself wishing for a quick resolution but at the same time I wanted the suspense to continue. It was a very good read that I highly recommend.

Phenomenal read! Even though I haven't read the whole book yet, this read is still phenomenal. It takes you into the story and live through Grace's eye as she seen them. It takes great power to stand up to her parents and take on that big role they can never do and that's to take care of Millie. I loved the chemistry of the characters, especially Millie and Grace. I love books like this read because I am able to escape into this dimension and see what Grace has seen and dealt with. I will continue to read this book and share with others the power this book has. *Got this book from SheSpeaks for free. Thanks SheSpeaks.

I am so Happy Grace came out ok in the end. She was such a strong character from the very beginning. She was so strong with her parents. Standing up to them an taking care of Millie. Then when she thought she found love but instead she found an evil man. She was so strong being able to figure out a way out of the mess and protect Millie. I was so happy Ester listened to her and helped her in the end. Women need to listen to each other more. I was so happy Grace won in the end!
