LOVED this book!! I couldn't put it down. I haven't seen the movie, and quite frankly, I'm a little afraid to watch it. I loved the book so much, I'm afraid I'll be disappointed in the movie. I loved that the author wrote the dialogue so grammatically correct. I felt like I was sitting right there in the room with those characters. I've bought several copies to give as gifts, because I want all my friends to read it.

I loved this book! It ranks as one of my top 5 all time favorites! As a Southern Belle, it rang true to home. Stockett does a wonderful job on character development leaving the reader with an understanding of the overarching story from multiple perspectives. After reading the book, I highly recommend seeing the movie, which is equally as good. A must read.

Loved every aspect of the book! Stockett really put history into perspective for me. I now understand how difficult things were back then. I would recommend this book to any and all of my friends. I haven't seen the movie yet so i cannot compare it properly.

This was such a good book! I saw the movie first and then went and got the book from the library. I was impressed with how well they matched up. It was a quick read which is what I need since I have three little ones I don't get much time to read.

This book was both entertaining and eye-opening. As a younger person, I wasn't alive during this era, but the book really brought that time to life.

I read this quickly and really enjoyed it! I always like a happy ending and would have liked it all wrapped up in a pretty bow....but life is not always like that. I read "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" first and both of these books showed us the way things were years ago.

This book kept me reading and at the end I still wanted to know what happens next. The most compelling for me was that it was written about a time and events I had followed in the news and were a large part of conversations and life, even in Minnesota. I learned after I read this book that it was the authors first and am now very impressed with her determination to tell the story.

Amazing book! I was hesitant to read it because of all the hype, and ended up reading it in two sittings. This is a book that even non-readers will enjoy. Can't wait to read more from Kathryn Stockett.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! The character development is amazing - makes you feel like you are in the scene with them :) I would love to read other books that are this intense, yet I can not find one like this one!

I absolutely loved this book! I felt like I really got to know the characters and I wish I could have kept reading more about their life after the book was finished. I can't wait to watch the movie!

I could not put this book down. It is a great read and would recommend. It to everyone. I even think they did a great job fitting all the important parts in the movie.
