I read the book first and immediately got hooked. The movie was just as amazing. It is a very powerful film and I can't wait to watch it again.

I truly love and respect how much they showed of the racist culture of the South. I also very much respect how they depicted slaves in the most true to history view. Slaves did not just escape. They fled, they were scared, and they knew their punishment. I also love how it shows just how quickly a man/woman of color could be captured in that time period. Truly a wonderful, historically accurate, portrayal of slavery.

I was not expecting this movie to be this good! This moving is soooo powerful and it really pulls at heartstrings and it was just perfect so perfect!

It is a wonderful movie! It will make you think for sure! You will Lee the sadway you came after washing this movie!

I like the movie but it's easy to get lost since they don't post dates when they for shadow before and after he was a slave so you really have to pay attention to not get lost

this movie was sad but inspiring it mas me cry. and the actors in this movie was big names in hollywood great acting.

Gut-wrenching. I had to walk away multiple times and do something else to make me less anxious. All though it is a hard story to process it is so worth the struggle.

This movie was very touching if there was an edited version I would suggest this be played in history classes.

Excellent movie!! I would recommend this movie. I loved the actors/actresses and even surprised Brad Pitt was in it.

12 yrs slave It keeps you interested the entire movie. It was detailed in the reality of slavery.

over hyped This movie was ok, but i don't think it was as great as people said. And i don't like saying that because i think slavery is something that movies should be made about and something we should have to think about sometimes but this just wasn't nearly as great as amistad or glory or other movie. that being said its still worth a watch its in no way a bad movie
