Definitely snacks and soda I splurge on. I usually just go the Grocery Store when I do my regular shopping. I do not go out of my way to Walmart or anything usually it costs more there anyway around here.

I agree with most of the results. Snacks (like chips) and beverages are a must, but cheese can get really funky in the sun so I rarely include that. Alcohol beverages is what usually costs the most.

Looks pretty typical to me. No matter what kind of party you're having cheese & crackers is a no brainer since you can shift the types of both to the type of soiree (fancy & unusual for upscale parties, more run of the mill for casual get togethers, esp involving kids).

My splurge when entertaining seems to be seafood: shrimp, Atlantic cod fillets, and crabs for crab cakes.

I agree with the results, I spurge on higher quality paper products, and yes cheese and chips and meats to make finger food platters, as well as veggies to do the same , Finger foods are always a go to when i entertain in my house

I usually go to Trader Joe's for food for a party, because there will be something there that is unexpected and will inspire me in a recipe.
