For Women's History Month this year, we asked who your hero is. More than 70% of you said you were inspired by your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother, your daughter, or an aunt who treated you like her own. Clearly, motherhood is something to be celebrated.
This Mother's Day, we want to appreciate all of the amazing mothers and daughters out there by showing off what our members said. Add your own story and you could win a $75 Sephora gift card to treat yourself - and a family member who you wish to honor too.
My grandmother, Jassodra Kumar. She is close to 70 years old and you will find her in a kickboxing class, doing yoga or getting a manicure. She has great energy and lives life to the fullest. Age is just a number for her and I hope to be just like her in my golden years. - Gjprasad
My mom's such a wise, loving, selfless woman and is always willing to help, listen, give a hug and share wisdom. ... she inspires me to be a better woman, wife, and mom. - wittes02
My mom. She was one of very few female welders back in the late 70's at the Electric Boat/General Dynamics shipyard. She endured a lot - physically, mentally, and tons of sexism. She did it to support 3 children on her own, and I'm proud she stuck it out! - AmAtHome
... At almost 89 years old, [my mom] is beautiful and strong! When our dad died, we thought we would be supporting and helping her, yet she ended up supporting us! If I could be half as beautiful and kind as she is when I am 60 years old, I would be happy! She inspires us all! - pmencin
My grandmother ... sacrificed so much during her childhood years in the Great Depression just so nobody in her family went hungry and that her younger siblings could stay in school. - redneckwoman
My mother ... was a stay at home parent till I was 4 and my father left. My proud mother had to BEG for a job. She worked her way up from a desk clerk to a manager of an office! Despite not having a lot of money, she always made sure we had food on the table and clothes on our backs. She went over 10 years with the same clothes, sewing them up so she could make sure my brother and I had shoes. ... - kymom13
My mom Dianne Brost inspires me because she has survived stage 3 colon cancer, has run 2 marathons since being diagnosed, will do anything for friends or family and volunteers a lot. - yarbr012
Kathy my mother ... just had a major stroke in November and her recovery is a miracle, she is so determined and after everything she has been through still has her sense of humor and worries of every one else. ... I am so lucky to have her as my best friend and my mother. - winnie11

My mom is a wonderful person she is always giving and help us kids out
My Grandma has always been there for me even when no one else was. When I was going through a very tough time she made sure I had food on the table for my children, my bills were paid on time and I had a place to live. The only thing she ever asked for in return was that I never give up on myself. She passed away 5 months ago at the age of 91. She was my best friend and she is my hero. I miss her so much.
My mom has overcome a lot, including abuse by my previous stepfather, and several illnesses. She's always been there by my side when I need her, especially when I almost died and she slept in a chair while I was in ICU for a week. She's amazing.
I must admit. I am a lucky girl! My mother has been a source of continued support and compassion throughout my life. We speak every day and she truly is my best friend. She has taught me how to love others, support a husband, raise a family and help others. I'm so thankful for her!
My Aunt was always supportive, generous, and empathic. She was not judgemental, as mothers tend to be, and accepted me for who I was. Even though I do not get to see her often, I love her dearly.
I have been inspired by my mother, now that I am a new mom, to be the best mother I can be. She always put my brother and I first and showed us how loved and special we were everyday. I will do the same for my baby boy!
I've been inspired by my mother to be strong and positive in the worst of times.
The woman who immediately comes to mind is my mom. My mom is not only my mother, but my best friend, confidante and person who has always been by my side, lending a helping hand, listening ear, and sometimes sitting beside me because her presence is all I needed. She's persevered through countless obstacles and difficulties, health battles and emotional struggles, but is as selfless as she could ever be. No matter what, she puts her family first and supports me through all I've ever faced. With her gentle nature and caring heart, she is someone who people can count on and trust. She deserves all the best life has to offer because of how much she's given the world and everyone living in it.
My mom would give the shirt off her back to help someone else and truly deserves a day dedicated to her.
I learned to never let any obstacle stand in my way. If there is one I overcome it or work around it.
I nominate my paternal grandmother and paternal aunt for helping to give me female guidance from kindergarten until thier deaths. I am unable to nominate my worthless mother (donator of 12 chromosomes and an egg) whom abandoned me at 7 yrs old. Later I come to find out she was a thief, bi polar drug abuser and murderer. I wish my mother something but it's not anything good.
My Mom is the strongest woman I know, wish i was that strong. She has raised 6 kids, 20 grandkids and 2 great grandchildren. She has battled and cancer and won. Now she helps dad with his cancer. She never quits she is always there. Love my mommie.
My grandmother was a phenomenal person. She stayed positive through a lifetime of hardships. She never really had a lot of money, but she knew how to make everyone feel special with her artistic talents.
My mom taught me to read when I was just 4. I have a serious love if reading.
my mom died thisyear and I can't remember too much about her connie danielson cbootsone@charter.net
