My holiday survival tip is to let others get involved and bring something if they want. If you are having a chili dinner, let someone bring fresh bread or a dessert or drinks. Don't try to do it all yourself or you will be exhausted and resentful and not want to host another event soon. It is about family and time spent together.

I use DrawList.com to set up a "secret santa" for our family's Christmas Gift Exchange. It does all the work for you. It sends out reminder emails, you can link or add items from Amazon to your wishlist, and it even creates a Outlook meeting to schedule the gift exchange in your Outlook calendar.

My holiday survival tips is to get store bought stuff as much as you can. In my mothers day, she stayed home all day and had time to bake everything from scratch. I work two jobs, so I do not have that luxury.

Crafting keeps my hands and mind occupied and reduces my stress level drastically. Not just for the holidays, but every day. As a homeschooling mom who also is nursing a baby and maintaining a household, I need all the help I can get.

My best advice to survive the Holiday Season is to be in the moment. The time you spend with your family is more important than gifts wrapped perfectly or the decorations aren't Martha Stewart perfect. Be open to letting the adults in the kitchen, not just to help, but the conversation can be more free and relaxed, helping to keep awkward situations for arising. Yet dont forget the the little ones, carve out time for them to help in the kitchen, not only will they love eating what they make, but those are the memories that will last with them forever! Most of all it's family and friends, the people you love and care about, it's not about whats on the table but who's around it, in all things give thanks!!

I like to get the family together for a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day. It keeps everyone busy and out of the kitchen so that my mom can work in peace for a few hours.

My tip is to take shortcuts when it makes sense for you. For example, on Thanksgiving, I make the turkey and ask guests to bring the side dishes. I buy a pumpkin pie for dessert. And I set the table the night before. Then I can relax on Thanksgiving morning and watch the parade with my family.
