Makes: 10 cups
Description: I have to make this for every function I attend and it goes fast!
Ingredients:
1 box
elbow noodles
1 small
onion
3/4 cup
sugar
1 cup
helmanns mayo
1/4 cup
mustard
1tbsp
season salt
1 tsp
salt
1tsp
black pepper
1 tsp
garlic powder
1 tsp
paprika
Instructions:
Cook noodles as per box. Drain and run under cold water. Chop onion and put into a bowl with the sugar (this allows the sugar to mix with the onions making them wet). Let it stand while noodles run under cold water. Once noodles are chilled, place in large mixing bowl. Add the sugar/onion mixture, mix well, then add all other ingredients (you may want to add a little more of something, ex pepper or season salt to your liking). Mix everything well. If noodles are dry, add 1/4 cup mayo. Chill in fridge for 2 hours before serving.
variations: you can also add celery or green onion. My son in law adds ham to his and I have even added tuna for a new taste.
SHOULD TASTE SWEET!!

Your recipe is very close to my mother's recipe. The only difference is my mom adds a dash of Worcestershire sauce. It taste amazing! I have mastered the way my mom makes it and I also have to bring the macaroni salad to every get together and I must agree it does go fast. You have a very tasty recipe here!! :) YUM
Any types of mushrooms work well here. Sear them in batches, without crowding in a hot skillet so that they will take on color without steaming.
