Makes: 6 servings
Description: This crisp has a crunchy, crumbly topping with a warm and soft center. Topped with ice cream, it is sure to be a hit.
Ingredients:
8 c.
sliced peeled tart apples
3/4 c.
sugar
1/2 tsp.
ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp.
salt
1/2 c.
quick cooking oats
1/2 c.
all-purpose flour
1/2 c.
packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp.
baking powder
1/8 tsp.
baking soda
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl mix your apples, sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Coat well.
2. In a bowl combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apple mixture.
3. Bake at 350 degrees, for 50 to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden. Serve warm w/ ice cream.
This looks so much easier than the one I've been using. I'll start with a double batch so maybe the kids will let me have some for once.
