I'm spending about the same now as I was 2-3 months ago, but compared to a 1-2 YEARS, it is WAY down!

Until there's a big change in how this country is being ran I'm afraid to spend anymore money than necessary to survive. Everyone seems to the worst is over but I feel it is yet to come.

With 3 kids, there are certain things that you need to have. I'm spending about the same but havebeen looking harder for better deals.

1-2 months ago I had a steady income and a little extra money. I was able to buy what I needed and most of what I wanted. Now my job might cut my hours way down and I'm going back to school. The money I have is going to what I need or going into savings. It's harder to justify going shopping now than it was before.

I was recently laid off from a wonderful part time job that gave me spending money...so I've been cutting back drastically. Not by choice though! :P

My husband was laid off about 6 months ago. With 5 kids I needed to find additional income. I looked into network marketing, so I could work for myself as time allowed. Also it has proven to be the best 'recession proof' income in this economy. Not only have I been blessed with 2 companies I am now part of, but I have surpassed my Husbands former income by 60%. No more going back to work for him! We both now put in part time hours with both comapnies and get to spend the time with our children they deserve!

I'm spending less and realize the downturn in the economy may actually be "good" for me: I am motivated to find ways to spend less, charge less, save more, make more from scratch, and enjoy learning about how to pinch a penny!

Prices have increased, each trip to the grocery store proves that the money I can spent on food goes not as far. Being on fixed income is getting harder and harder. We don't go any where, just stay here in town. Yet I am glad to have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep on.
