If you're going to be doing back to school shopping, where will it most likely be?

Not everyone will be doing back to school shopping this August and September, but if you're shopping for school supplies for your kids, where will you be going?

A drug store like Walgreens or CVS (14.7%)

The supermarket (3.6%)

A large chain store like Target or Walmart (87.1%)

A wholesale warehouse like Costco or Sam's Club (5.6%)

None of the above (4.4%)

If you're going to be doing back to school shopping, where will it most likely be?

The school my children attend buy the supplies, then we pay a fee to the school for them. But I still will buy school supplies just to have at home for them. For clothes, target, gap, gymboree, old navy, etc, when they have awesome sales.

This was my first year shopping for school supplies in the United States and on the advice of a friend I went to Walmart. I was amazed to find that I could get almost all of the items on my children's supply lists for $1 or less! However, after reading some of these comments I really wish that we had a Staples close to us. They seem to have even better deals. But, I feel like I did incredibly well. I spent about 1/4 the amount that I have previously when we lived in Germany. Not to mention that there were about a million more options. My kids were overwhelmed by the options.

Actually, I participated in my son's school partnership that thay have with a company that supplies the everything by grade level for $50.00. I purchase at the end of the school year and everything is there waiting for my son on the first day of school. I shopped at Target and Walmart for things that the teacher placed on her wishlist: paper towels, hand sanitizer, batterries, etc. And I shopped at Walmart for the $.25 deals to aid the school in giving supplies to the kids who's parents could not afford to but or participate in the school offer.

For me and my family Target, Walmart , Costco and BJ's is where we find the best values for our money. We never have to worry about a major sale with these stores when its "Back to School" time.

I usually hit WalMart, but the deals at Staples and Office Depot are just GREAT! So I do a "double" stock up and keep it for later in the year ... usually my kid needs new crayons around the middle of the year... Or I send in "extras" for the teacher... I used to teach and I know how much teachers spend out of their pockets on the classroom..every little donation helps.

Target and Walgreens with store and manufacturer coupons everything was free or darn close to it. Now just waiting for everything to go on clearance and with my lists for next year I can get everything waaaaaayyyyy ahead of time and for next to nothing.
