We're spending a little more now, not because the economy is good, but because we're almost empty-nesters and have more to spend! And we've lived extremely frugily for our entire marriage, and now we're enjoying a little extra. Not much, just not watching every single penny.

I'm spending more because my husband's job was not affected by the recession and I now have extra income with a new job.

My husband's place of employment has had their hours cut back to 31 per week. This has made us change our spending habits. We are eating more meals at home and spending less on extras.

I am spending more, not because I want to, its because the price of things keep going up. I live on a fixed income and between doctor bills and plumbing bills, the food budget got a bit short this month.

My small business has been really struggling, so we are skimping and saving everywhere possible so as to pay our household bills and keep the business running.

I've been unable to find employment period. I had to quit my 15 hour a week job in May because I couldn't find childcare cheaper than what I made. I guess that was a mistake because now I can't find anything. I answered an ad in the local newspaper and it turned out to be a scam. Collect my payments and I'll give you 20%. The number given to call after they received my resume didn't even answer with a company name and wasn't even in our country. I use coupons, do without. NEEDS ONLY and some of those don't get met. Life is hard.

With a one year old, I can't spend as much!!! It is cheaper now that she's on milk, but regular food is pretty pricey, too!!! It seems no matter what you do, there's NEVER enough money to go around for everything! They want to charge, more taxes, more INSURANCE, more this more that, but no compensation in my income to help offset all these raises!!! I guess that's why my office is always flooded with people!!!!!
