No, someone is going to have to pay for his ideas and I feel it will be the middle class.

I'm Optimistic that this Country has actually proved that ANYONE can Be President of the United States regardless of Race. I think Obama will do his Best but I think this is a bad time for him since the Economy is so bad off and he'll get some slack for it I'm sure. Theres alot of people out there that think Obama will change things overnight but in reality the Economy is slow to heal its going to take Obama more than a year to get this country back on its feet.

He seems like a very nice guy so even if he does lead us into socialism and mediocrity at least he will be well spoken and pleasant. Unfortunately it seems that many people want to be taken care of by the goverment so a lot of folks will be very happy if we fade into a third world status. Thanks to the Republicans for being a bunch of spineless squishes when they had a chance, so I say go for it Mr. Obama we deserve it.

It is really difficult to be optimistic with the unemployment at 7.4%.

Its hard to be optimistic when he deliberately fooled a lot of Americans of all color. some of us know and understand the dynamics of his campaign. very sheepishly depending on being elected on one fact ,or dare I say part of one fact ,hence the huge , huge turn out of African American voters. This was anticipated . one can conclude our new president was elected on racial bias. Even though I voted for him it was not due to the fact that he is part African American.

Obama didn't recieve my vote, but as I should,I will be praying for him and give him the respect our leader deserves.Sadly, many did not offer the same to Mr. Bush,to keep supporting him after 9-11,and during the war.Regardless of personal feelings, our leaders deserve prayers, and respect.Whatever Mr. Obama does or doesn't do for our country,he will ultimately remain our leader,he deserves the same.I never understood how one person could be responsible for the failure of the economy-go figure?!It still remains that there are some things in this world that are still worth fighting and dying for, money is not even at the top of that list for me!(An ending note) I'm adding that my family's total income for last year was around $30,000.We are by no means well off,my husband is currently on un-employment as well as many others.I still choose to value freedom, morals and human life,as far more precious than money, and the economy.

I totally agree with Turtleks. As Americans we tend to put faith in others, we need to put faith in our own ability to make changes in our own personal environments. When we do that we will make better choices all around our lives to create balance. We need to pass things forward and learn to respect the brothers and sisters we never met; we walk amongst them on a daily bases. Change comes from the 303,824,640 + people in America not 1 man. I believe President - Elect Obama has good intensions but the only thing he has in common with the late great President Kennedy is that they both put on their pants the same way, one leg at a time.
