Family history is not on my side so I was genetically-tested. I am relieved by the results.

4 of my 5 aunts got breast cancer in their 40's so I get my mammograms done ever year. I'm not sure how each was detected, but with the family history I would suspect it was by self-examination.

A yearly mammogram is a MUST!! Also, self exam is important. I had a friend that found a small lump that didn't show up on the mammo.
