I have smoked for a little over 12 years. I wish I had never picked it up. When my kids started looking at me saying mommie your not going to smoke any more made me want to be a better role model for them and quit and show them what it does to you so they don't smoke. Not to mention the money spent on them.
I quit smoking exactly 1 month ago. I quit cold turkey after getting a terrible case of bronchitis that landed me in the hospital. I hope and pray I never smoke again. I do not intend to. It hasn't been too bad quitting but I do get cravings every day.
A coworker/friend of mine has been trying to quit smoking and has been unsuccessful. Luckily, she just found out she is pregnant and has quit cold turkey for the health of her baby. Maybe this will do the trick and keep her from lighting up again!
I was a die-hard love my cigarettes smoker for 27 years. Chantix was my miracle pill. It will be 2 years in May. I love my money more now! Trying to get my daughter to quit smoking now. Good Luck to anyone who is quitting!!!
I actually have an appointment with my doctor in a couple of weeks to discuss help to stop smoking. I realized that I have been smoking now longer than I haven't and I am not that old (37)! I have tried several times to quit on my own but have been unsuccessful, so I am hoping my doctor can help!
My husband and mother-in-law are smokers. We're expecting our first child in late October and they would both like to quit before the baby arrives. I hope they are successful, as this would relieve lots of stress in my life because I won't have the baby vist my MIL's home if she's still smoking. My husband won't smoke around me and our home is a smoke free. However, I know even if he smokes outside or in his car, he is still bringing in the residue into the house and contaminating the air.
I quit cold turkey a few years ago since I always felt weak and sick. Since then I have REALLY had moments of craving, however the recent birth of my first child has strengthened my resolve not to go back to it. It really is a lifelong battle.
