Putting yourself in Silda Wall Spitzer?s position, would you stand by your man as she did when the news of his philandering broke?

Silda Wall Spitzer is just the latest politician's wife who's had to endure the embarrassment of her family's personal affairs being broadcast to the world- Remember Dina McGreevey?! So, we were curious, if you were in the same situation, would you, as Tammy Wynette sang, "stand by your man"?

Or would you tell him that he was "on his own"? We want to know what you think!

Yes (9.5%)

No (61.3%)

I'm not sure (29.3%)

She must have been in shock when the news broke but if I was her, no way would I ever be seen with him again, except in divorce court. According to the news, that girl was only 5 years older than their oldest daughter. He wanted to have unprotected sex with a hooker. He has beyond humiliated his entire family, ruined their whole lives and lost his carreer. All for some very expensive sex. I could have paid my mortgage for the money he spent to get laid. I hope he enjoyed it enough so that it keeps him warm at night, long after his family is gone. She's nuts if she stays with him. Take the girls and run. You never know, he might try to molest the daughters next.

I would not want to be in the shoes of that woman nor do I have the right to judge anyone involved. She might have known ...probably not, but it's none of our business. We have no idea what went on in thier relationship. They should be in everyones prayers not in our gossip. Don't hate the sinner , hate the sin.

I think if Spitzer wanted to cheat he should have divorced his wife to at least save her from the shock and humiliation. He is a pig because he didn't just sleep with one prostitute, but he slept with eight. I think he should not have gotten married in the first place, because he sure doesn't take marriage seriously!

It showed a lot of class to do what she did. Even though inside she must be devastated.

NO WAY! HE DESTROYED ALL TRUST, HE MIGHT EVEN HAVE GIVEN AN STD TO HIS WIFE. HIS FAMILY WILL BE FOREVER EMBARRASSED. HE IS VERY SELF-CENTERED AND STUPID! HIS COMMON SENSE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED HIM BUT HE WAS THINKING THROUGH A DIFFERENT "AREA". HE GETS WHAT HE DESERVES.

Not only that he did it, but that he spent all that money to do it would have made me furious. Other than the money factor everyone makes mistakes

Well, I don't know what their relationship is like, so I can't comment on her side, but I know that if my husband were to do this to me, I wouldn't have the ability to stand by him. I guess I could stand by pieces of him, or maybe there would be nothing left but a grease smear when my father would be done with him...

If it were me in that situation...i'd be so outta there. I'd take the kids and leave him with all of the prostitutes that he apparently cares more about than his own family.I spit on that nasty man!

I hate infidelity and lies as much as the next person but it is very difficult to dismiss a marriage. Man is human and prone to sin, as hard as it is we must often work to forgive. If this is a pattern that can not be resolved then she may need to walk away. If this is the first time she has become aware of this issue then they have the opportunity to work on the problem and see if it is possible to save their marriage and heal his addiction.
