Why would you want someone who likens themselves to a pitbull? Yes, she's like a pitbull - she has a large bark but she's kept on a short leash. That's why they don't let her near reporters after she did so badly with Charlie Gibson.

    I'm a school librarian.

Palin's attempt to censor books in her home town library is a deal-breaker for me.

I will not be voting for Obama or McCain. I am a Democrat, but I do not trust Obama and I'm not fond of McCain. I will be choosing a write-in candidate.

The only thing Palin and Clinton have in common is ovaries. Yes, it would be great to have a woman in office -- but a QUALIFIED woman. Palin's contribution to the McCain ticket thus far has been guided by the same people Bush looked to during his presidency. Worse, she comes to the ticket burdened by her own history of vengeful politics, a lack of political transparency, and throwback policies. McCain may have made a politically astute choice, but what's good for his polling numbers is hardly good for the country. As for me, I'll take Obama!

I am picking the candidate with experience...John McCain. Not because of his VP but because he has experience. Palin was a good pick for the silent majority who are against all the hot button topics right now...Gay marraige, abortion, gun control. I personally like her stances but that's my opinion. I agree there were probably better choices for both sides of the aisle but we deal the hand we're dealt. Obama may have been better to run in 4 years...get some "meat" behind what you've done and earn some mutual respect. Put some things in place...see how they go and actually have substantiated proof of what you can do...then run. Just because each side is not happy with how the last few years have gone doesn't necessarily mean that just anyone can go in and be better for the job. There are a lot worse positions for us to be in than where we are right now. Looking at history, we have always rollercoastered through all presidents' stays of office and will continue to no matter who's in office. I pray for leaders' of all countries and especially ours during these trying times. I sure wouldn't want their job. On the last note...please continue to support the security of our nation....NOT just the homeland security umbrella...ALL security measures...I have plenty of friends who work extremely hard every day in the Department of Defense trying to keep us safe from terrors we as the people don't even want to know about. God Bless America and America Bless God!

I can't believe women are deciding solely to vote McCain/Palin just because they'd like to see a woman at the White House!!! Wake up We Need Change! Do you not see where the republicans have got us in the past 8 years?? Deeper in debt, no jobs, and people are losing their homes daily!!!

    Ygarza5,

My motto is either you care what the hell everyone says about you or you don't give a damn what anyone says about you. I tend to fall in the middle, because to be totally on one side of the fence says that you have no room for growth in your life because you deem yourself a person to know it all. If someone tells you what they are not and you have no solid proof that they are what you believe them to be, then you live your life on what is an Opinion and not what is FACTUAL. If you have children this is a hard lesson to teach. There are evil people in the world that will taunt them for being ugly, poor, nerdy, arrogant, rich, shy etc.. So then what do we do as parents, we teach them to ignore those types of people. This is what I hope everyone on this blog does, which is to ignore you, because I hope you are never in a position in your life whereas you need to provide evidence to convince people that you are what you say your are.

THERE IS NO DAMN EVIDENCE THAT OBAMA IS A MUSLIM. You believing it doesn't make it true. With every reporter and investigator out there digging in every closet that they own, wouldn't they have found the truth by now. Our history books are based on facts, not lies, so stop spouting yours and stop tainting our country with your hateful prejudices. NEVERTHELESS, you don't want to trust Muslims, but grow up because they live in our country. Your prejudices will allow you to never elect an official to office TO RUN THE DAMN COUNTRY because they are GAY, FAT, SKINNY, UGLY, PRETTY, JEWISH, CATHOLIC, BLACK, ASIAN, AND SO ON. Please wake up and look around, the world is changing and a lot of these people are your neighbors, family members, friends of your children, etc. Grow up and select a candidate on the issues. If these major corporations can't stay afloat, how in the hell are the little people going to make it. This is what the American people are worrried about moreso than the wars. However, the more we spend over there the less chance of survival rate we have in our own country.

Anybody but Obama, honestly I was praying Condolezza rice would be on the ticket, but hopefully Palin is a good pick. I like Mc Cain, but Romney would have been better..... Anybody but Obama!!

I second these thoughts! I didn't know that anyone else was thinking the same thing. It's unfortunate that we don't really have a great candidate to pick from . . . it seems every election I'm always weeding out who is the "worst" choice and who is "okay". But this year, I agree, anybody but Obama (except anyone with the last name Clinton, that would be worse!!).
