If you're going to be doing back to school shopping, where will it most likely be?

Not everyone will be doing back to school shopping this August and September, but if you're shopping for school supplies for your kids, where will you be going?

A drug store like Walgreens or CVS (14.7%)

The supermarket (3.6%)

A large chain store like Target or Walmart (87.1%)

A wholesale warehouse like Costco or Sam's Club (5.6%)

None of the above (4.4%)

If you're going to be doing back to school shopping, where will it most likely be?

This year I did all of my back to school shopping at Walmart. My son has an extensive list of not only "school supplies" but also cleaning products, paper products and personal use items for teaching staff; we spent about half of what we usually spend by going to Walmart. In the past we have frequented Target, Office Depot & Staples; these stores cost twice as much, but they do have a better selection of some of the trendier items.

I have done most of my shopping at Walmart because they always have products in stock. Walgreens has had some great sales in their adds but my local store does not have the products in stock. The manager said he only orders a "certain amount" and they sell out quck.

Whatever happend to the days when the Mead looseleaf paper was on sale, as were the Mead composition notebooks? That was only a few years ago.

So far, I have found the best deals at Walmart and Target. Staples and Office Max also have some great deals.

As a Mom of four kids who are all in school, I found it disheartening when reading over all of their back to school supply lists. Fortunately, I found great deals at Wal-Mart, Walgrens and (believe it or not) Kroger. I did and do shop around for the best deal. I was able to send all four back to school with their supplies, new backpacks, new tennis shoes and a few "must have's" for this year without breaking the bank.

I really do not have the need for "go back to school" supplies. I do think it is the best time of the year to stock up on my own office supplies because the prices are so good.

I like getting everything the kids need in one place, to save time. Target is my preference because I beleive that the quality of clothing is greater there. And, my children like the clothes from Target.

You really have to shop around to get the best deal. Depending on your time and location of the stores, it is better to get the best deals at the individual stores. Just remember, these are loss leaders, so don't buy anything else if you don't need it.
