Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  For some, this is a day to celebrate their love for that special someone.  For others, its a day that we dread!

We were curious.  Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?  If so, what do you do to celebrate?  If you don't celebrate, why not?  Please tell us what you think.  We want to know!

    i bought Godiva chocolates for: my daughter/her hubby, my friend who recently separated from her hubby, my neighbor who was recently widowed. My husband and i just enjoy each other on that day. : )

    even if I dont have a somebody special at the time I always buy cards and candy for my family members such as my kids and my mother, sister, niece, father, aunt,etc, just to let them know that I love them and appreciate them and I care not just on valentine's day but everyday

    My husband and I are not so serious about this 'holiday' but it doesn't go by unknown.

    we don't make a big deal but we recognize the day. We usually add wine to dinner and make sure we have "alone" time. We all need to be thankful if we have a soul-mate in our lives. My mom is a widow, my grandfather is alone...there are so many people that are alone yet when we are in a relationship we blow special appreciation holidays off because they are so commercial. I think this year I'm going to do something very special. I let my husband know everyday that I love him but how often do we tell our partners that we never want to be without them? Valentines Day could be the perfect opportunity to look at it just a little bit different. xoxo

    Our anniversary is the week before Valentines Day, so it's sort of a non-eventful day for us. We do exchange cards, but we make it more about the kids than each other. It's a day we celebrate how much we love our children.

    my husband gets a see's candy gift certificate every christmas from work, then we save it for vday as our chocolate treat - it's so sweet!

    OMG Valentine's Day is such a retail holiday! Its no longer about love, so we dont celebrate buy buying gifts that we'll see/like/use for a week or so.

    I normally send my friends a letter or note and go out with whoever my boyfriend may be, but this year my boyfriend is anti valentines day so him and i don't get to celebrate. But that's what girlfriends are for!
