    I will answer if I am expecting a call or if I don't answer it the first few times then I know it's an emergency otherwise it's rude rude rude

    I find it rude when people do this to me so try VERY hard not to when I am with others. If I do receive a call from someone that is not so very important yet I want to answer I answer and tell the person I will call them back when I am free. Of course, I always tell the party I am with that I will only be a minute before taking the call. And I NEVER answer the phone when I am in the restroom - that is the ultimate No No as far as I am concerned.

    I believe it is important to give the friend you are with your utmost attention. So, I would only answer my cell if I were expecting an important call or if a family member was trying to contact me.

    I only answer if I look and see if it's from my husband or child....otherwise I think it's rude. The person can leave a message and I will return the call later.

    I don't see my friends often, so it would be extremely rude of me to answer my phone while with them. It would take away time from them that I don't have a lot of in the first place.

    I don't understand how answering the phone in front of a group of people, has because ok. I am 35 not that old but I grow up with no cell phones, smart phones etc. There was no caller ID, no text messages, if you were not home to recieve the call, then you didn't get a call. So why are people so attached to the phone now a days, when the phone rings, they have to answer it. Don't get me wrong the cell phone, is great for emergencies but calm down people and try to experience life....
