It's a combination of a lot of things. Kids don't play outside anymore. There is way to much fast food and junk food eaten by the children and the parents. Physical education is lacking in the school system. Recess has been taken away in most of the grade schools. Parents don't exercise so kids don't exercise.

I believe our kids are obese because they learn poor eating habits from their parents. That combined with the sedentary lifestyle most of us live. Our kids no longer go outside to play. They are way to consumed with computers and video game systems. Parents are not being good examples either because most of us are just as consumed with out computers and games. We need to have more family activities that involved physical activity. Our schools also need to have better meals provided and more gym classes.
