"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" -- Martin Luther King, Jr

i must also add that we have no right getting angry at those around the world who rejoiced after the 9/11 attacks if we celebrate the killing of bin laden - it is wrong and hypocritical

There is evil everywhere that inspires things like terrorism, hatred and more. Although I do not think we are now magically safe because he is gone, I do believe the world is safer. It's one less person who is pushing the message. Yes, there are still a lot of people who are terrorists and threaten our safety but they didn't come about just because of his death. They've been a problem all along... just not the focus of our attention.

I will always mourn for the people affected by the evil actions of 911. But I do not think it is proper to rejoice in the streets over the death of this evil man. In doing so we demean ourselves and our face with the world because in essence we are acting as he did by rejoicing in the destruction and death he caused. I think we are above that level of hate and should behave as such!

The world *may* be a bit safer, but I am under no illusions that this is the end of it. You have to understand that even if Bin Laden was failing in popularity, there most certainly have been others groomed to step in where he left off. You may have taken the head, but the fanaticism still remains.

If you love your freedom thank a service member. Our Marines Air Force Navy and Army put their lives on the line for our country day in and day out. It's great we got Bin Laden but many have given their lives to fight the war on terror.
