I have a smart phone and am able to do this but it is just one more thing to be doing that is not necessary.and a waste of time. I prefer printed in the paper coupons or ones just added to my store cards with a minimum of effort. I don't text and only use free apps and only those which are necessary to use such as GPS or email and of course using the phone.

I do not like the apps such as FourSquare and others where the store wants you to "check in" to receive the promotional discount , coupon, or freebie. Stalkers, thieves, and other do like FourSquare because they know right where you are when you check in.

I have a smart phone that I use all the time, but people in stores look at me like I'm crazy. I use keyring for my loyalty cards, but have had several stores tell me that they weren't able to use it. I also worry about privacy...I mean with Check Points, they know my GPS location in order for me to use it.

I like the apps and coupon texts. Sometimes I worry about privacy but not enough to stop using them!

I don't want to be bombarded at my private line with other offers if they sell my info to other companies. It's why I don't use my phone for coupons and such.

I'm not sure if this app is only available through Iphone, but I use AppShopper religiously. It notifies you of when there is a price drop or an app is available for FREE. I've never paid for an app yet. Worth checking into. You can select by category just like on the app store. I use it on my ipad also!

I do use coupons through my phone, like Cellfire, Meijer and Mobideals & have an app where you can scan barcodes to make a grocery list of items you regularly purchase. However, the problem I usually have is with cashiers who don't understand that when I'm showing them a scannable bar code on my phone, it IS a VALID coupon, even though they don't have something to put in their drawer-and they don't want to accept it. I know which stores to not even bother doing this, and they are losing my business more and more.

Privacy is a huge concern for me. Companies need to do more to make consumer feel secure.
