Organic foods are more expensive. I buy them to the extent that I can. What I do is avoid purchasing the "Dirty Dozen" in conventional produce. Things that I always purchase organic: celery, apples, pears, grapes, peppers, strawberries, and lettuce, among others. In addition, I try to purchase locally grown produce whenever I can.

It depends. If I am at the Saturday Market I always go to the Organic Veg stand. In a regular store if the organic looks better and is not too expensive then I will purchase it - otherwise, I go for the regular food. It really depends on what it is I am buying - some foods I really don't think it makes a difference.

I focus more on locally grown rather than organic! I am lucky to have my own garden as well as neighbors, we trade with , we have 2 great weekly Farmers markets, and a number of local farmstands. In the summer it is great fresh local eating, but as winter drags on not so much. BUT this is where I come in I make and sell pickles, jelly, applesauce, pie filling and other stuff made from local produce!

It is so difficult to find high wuality organic products when you live on a military post in a small town. When I find products that are organic, then I try to buy them, especially since usually the price is not too different or possibly cheaper. When we have asked our commisary to stock more childrens products that are organic they told us there is just not a calling for it, so therefore all of us have to travel to get the things we are really wanting to try.

My husband and I used to buy organic just once in a while when the budget could afford it. Recently I became quite ill, so we have had to cut back in some other areas and buy more organic foods because they don't tend to contain the things that aggrivate my malady. But I've also noticed that just because it says 'Organic' it doesn't always mean that it is entirely free of harmful preservatives and/or other chemicals. Do homework and read the labels.

I will buy organic if it is on sale or if the regular produce doesn't look good, but I really don't purchase organic very often. You never know what you are getting and if it is truly organic. I tend to buy locally more than anything - I think it's important to support your local farmers.

I've been working on providing more natural foods myself and my family. I wish the price wasn't so high on organic foods. I purchase it when our budget allows it.
