I agree that the current plan is very vague and missing specifics, but having lived under socialized medicine in England must admit that it works. Yes, you have to wait in line and are not always guaranteed the best medical care. When it works it is good, when it doesn't it is bad. Where it really works good is for those who cannot afford medical care such as the unemployed, the elderly and those on limited income. My father, in England, gets a daily nurse to tend is health needs, the Dr comes to his house for the visit, all his medicine and care is free and all because he has paid this out of his income during his 40 years of work. Well worth the investement to know that you do not have to worry about this in your elder years.

While I agree that universal health care is neccessary, I don't think there are any clear ideas about how to make it work in our country.

My children have CHIP insurance. I pay a low copay for dr visits, there is no long waiting, no mistreatment, as a matter of fact they are not treated any differently than children with private insurance. My son battled leukemia a few years back and without that insurance we would have most likely went bankrupt. To me, providing CHIP insurance for adults would be the perfect solution. Your out of pocket expenses are based on your income and virtually everything is covered and finding a doctor or hospital that accepts CHIP is not a problem at all.

I think that many people have very strong opinions about the new health care plan, which in my opinion is very vague. If Obama wants more support from people in America, I think it would be wise to give us more specifics about it, let us get use to the idea a little bit longer before requiring a vote. I think it's extremely important for Obama and supporters of this new health care plan to figure out specifics, and communicate those to the American public. I have heard him say some things about health care that I see as being conflicting information, so I think he needs to get his facts straight as well!

I would liek to believe that it would work. I watched the show SICKO and saw how other countries make it work. However, I do not believe that our government is looking at any of these countries to model after. I also believe that the middle class is going to feel the effect!

I have a friend in a country with socialized medicine. We both had the same medical problem.. gallbladder malfunction. I had a physician appointment on a Friday at 2:45pm and was in surgery the following Monday at 11am. Mine was removed laproscopically and I recovered quickly and was back to work in a week.. It was well worth my insurance's 20% co-pay. She, however, had to wait 2 1/2 years until a stone dropped into the duct, almost killing her. She has an ugly long scar and took months to recover... Yeah... a real moneysaver....

There is no clearly defined program from which to judge. Before a plan is voted into law, I hope the Congress and the Prez will do us the honor of READING the bill

I think it's terrible. I have several doctor friends who are looking at options for other employment because they know being a doctor will no longer be a good business. By the way, what kind of "pork spending" is listed in the bill? Didn't he say he was going to cut it and that he would expose those who were pushing it? Liar.

Thank God, the Communities are ORGANIZING to hopefully stop this horrible, horrible socialist takeover of 1/6 of our economy. Your children, grandchildren, great, great grandchildren will be paying forever for this. But that's not the worst of it, the Government will be telling you what health care you can HAVE or can't HAVE. My God, how could anyone even think about doing this! It's all about power, the Government wants to control all of us. If you get cancer, do you want to wait 3 months before you are allowed to get chemotherapy? That's what will happen if this gets passed. And the Government will have access to everyone's bank account to pay for this. READ THE PLAN, it's out there!

Insurance reform can happen without this plan that is taking shape. Our senior friends and family members are terrified of the implications of this plan. Our politicians are denying what is there, even though it has been able to be proven (direct citing of pages and references). As a type I Diabetic, I would love to see lower costs, but not at the expense of this type of plan. Obama is on tape saying he wants a single payer system. There's no denying that. Also, how many more things can we pass through with either no one reading them, or which will leave a huge financial burden on the future generations?
