Have you ever purchased a beauty product "as seen on TV?"

Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.

We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

I purchased Bare Escentials cosmetics after seeing the infomercial. I love, love, love it! It's the best info purchase I ever made. Now many of my friends and family use it because of my positive experience with BE. I am a repeat customer.

One thing that I purchased and really think is a great product is the "Sticky Putty" that they had on HSN or QVC-can't remember which one I ordered it from. Since then I have seen it at Target and advertised at other stores. Anyway in my opinion it really is worth the money. There have been a few things that I have used it on and did not get good results, but for the most part extremely satisfied with the product. Another thing I bought was the "Foot Thingee" (LOL)-cannot think of the name of it, have never used it and just had to have it-LOL.....

I bought the smooth away and love it! You have to be careful how vigorous you are trying to remove your hair though since it can microscopically scratch your skin. I gave myself a rash on my shins from trying to rush to finish. I recommend this though for those who are sick of shaving and want smooth skin as well as smooth legs. I have rough skin so this product really made a difference. My husband thought I went waxing!

i have purchesed the bumpits and i wasnt really satisfied with the product. In the beginning of the day it works great but within a few hours if your hair starts to go flat then it doesnt even look like u have one in or you just have to keep fluffing your hair all day. i put tons of hair spray and root lifters but maybe im using the wrong one any suggestions on a good root lifter?

I bought smooth away at CVS ..saw it advertised on TV and on a whim while in CVS decided to buy it! It works ok but only if you have short stubble otherwise it isn't worth the price of a postage stamp. Very disappointed in this as I thought it would work great.
