Competition within the insurance realm is a good thing. Doctors aren't getting rich; the insurance companies are. No doubt the system will act just like another tier within the insurance/medicare scheme, in other words another choice that's available to those who have never been able to afford insurance or whose companies don't provide for them.

The BEST health care is taking care of YOURSELF. Period.

There is a reason that so many people from other nations come to the US for serious illnesses. We have the best in the world. There is room for improvement but socialized healthcare is not it. I waited 5 hours in Bermuda for antibiotics for an infection. I finally left because each time it was getting to be my turn someone came in a little worse. It was a nightmare!

I am very leary about it. We have wonderful health insurance right now. My husband works for the state and if we have a universal health care system, the state will most likely use that instead of what we have. I don't want to lose what I already have, but I think it would be inevitable .

I think if they actually can agree on on a plan, it should be a good for all of us. Almost any plan has got to be better than the way health care for the middle and poorer class is now.

I don't know that I can trust the goverment to make good choices for me and my family when it comes to health care.

I think people who do not want health insurance for everyone is selfish and I will pray for them. I joined the military right after school from 85-93. I signup to fight for my country but cant get medical assistance when I am unemployed. Who cares if you are middle class or upper class if your american you should have the right to get medical assistance in this country not lay in your bed and suffer. The American Dream is gone.

Yes, because people may go to the doctor and find new ways to maintain their health.
