Would a woman make a good US President?

We had to ask!  With the campaign for the 44th US President in full swing, we are in the midst of a historic election.  Senator Clinton could very well be the Democratic nominee for President in the 2008 elections.

As a woman, do you think that a woman could be a good US President?  Better than a man?  What do you think that a woman might bring to the table that a man could not?  Please share your thoughts.

Yes (54.7%)

No (12.4%)

Maybe (32.9%)

I feel that a woman could be just as good as a man for president. I do not think that it matters what gender you are, but what you see for the future of the U.S. and how you can help. It is important to not look at gender but the issues and how they are represented.

Of course this would be something new to the American government. I believe it all depends on how strong she is and whether or not her leadership qualities and decision making skills are up to par. People need positive changes, in particularly the working poor. Having proved herself as a woman who can produce results she would definetly be embraced, respected, and well on her way.

I'm sort of old school--- I cannot say that a woman would make a good president for our country. Yes, women are most intelligent, strong, and may have all the necessary leadership qualities to successfully lead this country. However, that does not mean that a woman should lead-- especially not in the place of any man who could do the job well.

Woman, African American, it shouldn't matter as long as the person is qualified.

I think a female perspective might bring a breath of fresh air into a traditionally "good old boys" type of environment, although it doesn't really matter what you are as long as you are qualified to serve in the position.

I do believe a female would make a good president, but I would like a few more women to choose from besides the one running now.

I think it will be interesting to see how a woman president perspective will fair in the government. Go Hillary!!!

I agree that it doesn't matter what the gender is; what does matter is what type of person it is. So for me it would truly depend on who was running.

I don't think gender will make a difference. I feel that experience and knowledge of the job and thinking of the overall picture are more important.

America needs to show the world that we practice what we preach, on human rights, equal opportunity, etc...
