I love all the yummy carbs! Stuffing, corn bread, potatoes...
The Carbs!! We have turkey through out the year. Corn bread dressing, mac & cheese, homemade rolls, cakes, cobblers and pies happen for thanksgiving and this makes it special. Yes!
I love the sweet potatoes the most and the homemade stuffing...yummy.
I love the turkey. This year we're making two. I'm making a Creole butter roasted turkey. And, my husband is BBQing one on the grill. That's the great thing about living in Florida, you can cook and eat outside yearround! Thanksgiving is going to be outside this year, by the pool.
I love turkey on Thanksgiving day and as left overs. Turkey sandwiches on rye bread, Yum!
I love the Turkey, the homemade side dishes are the bomb, with plenty of gravy. My Mother-in-law was the first person, whom I recall making it from scratch. Once she had me make it, seen all went into it. I had to come up with my own dressing. I felt so honored when she asked me for my recipe, as hers was a family tradition. The taste is in the dressing, without all 'that' good stuff. (giblets). More than just the meal, grateful for all the people in my life.
My two favorites are the dressing and sweet potatoes!
Mashed potatoes and gravy. Can't get enough!
We started a new tradition last year--each member of our family has to make something special for the meal, whether it's an old favorite or a newly inspired dish from a recipe they found. It gets each person involved and when we all sit down together, it makes it even more special.
Dessert is always my favorite. Chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, I like chocolate. I usually don't eat much for thanksgiving dinner because its so much more about the dessert for me.
