We asked this question about a year ago and thought that it would be fun to do it again!
As women, different things motivate us. A group of friends recently got together and starting comparing notes on compliments. One had recently been told that she was beautiful. She said that it made her day. Another said that she would prefer to hear that she is special.
Perhaps, different comments are appropriate at different times but, it got us thinking about what we most liked to hear. There doesn’t seem to be a one size fits all.
What do you like to hear and why?

I love you (39.8%)
You're beautiful (22.9%)
You're smart (14.7%)
You're special (16.0%)
You're funny (6.5%)
My loved one says I love you so very frequently that I sometimes feel the value of the feelings behind it become less emotional. I am not as pretty as I would like to be and I wish that there was someone who really felt deeply enough to tell me that I am beautiful. It is not only for physical beauty, but a beautiful soul also.
Yes ..well saying i love you and your beautiful is cliche'....but getting told your special IS AWESOME!!!!
Love and beauty fade with age, everyone's mom thinks that they are special, and funny is often a shallow compliment... being intelligent is the best.
I had a hard time picking which one I wanted hear. They all have the power to make my day. In the end, I went with I love you. When my man tells me that he loves me, it's like no other feeling. When he says that, it makes me feel special, beautiful, intelligent and loved all at the same time. I glow when he tells me that....
All of these compliments mean something to someone, so I'd pick them all.
I pick "I love you" to me it covers all the bases if it comes from someone who really means it!!
When someone takes the time to say "I love you" it always brightens my day. I particularly enjoy it when my children will say that to me in front of friends. With peer pressure being what it can in these times, I am glad they think it is important to say "I love you".
My husband and son tell me they love me all the time - which always makes me feel LOVED; therefore, I want to hear "You're Special". You're Special makes me feel as though I am important to them.
I actually like all of them. Its hard to choose.
Life gets so busy sometimes that my husband and I don't get a chance to say the I Love you that needs to be said. We know how each other feels, but it is always nice to hear it from the other person.
