What type of organization is the most frequent recipient of your "giving" time and dollars?

Whether married or solo, women have a lot of economic influence today and that translates into the philanthropic realm, as well. We have a knack for seeing the interconnectedness of giving both time and money, and we know that we can impact change no matter how large or small the amount. Not surprisingly, the wealthiest people are the greatest "givers," but which came first - the wealth or the giving attitude? We all have our cause(s) of choice, and make those decisions based on very personal influences. Perhaps a family member has a certain illness, or a grandchild graduated from a specific school, or, you may be very involved in giving back to your community via your local church or synagogue

Church/Synagogue|I like having a more local connection (43.1%)

Personal cause|a family member's rare illness or some other very niche-organization gets most of my "giving" time/money (37.3%)

Hmm.. wouldn't just about anything fall under Personal Cause? If it has any meaning to us, it makes it personal. If it doesn't, why would we donate time or money?

I give to different institutions for different reasons. I would say that there are multiple that I give to but, some are nearer to my heart than others.

I like to give to organizations that support Christian ideals. Also, I like to donate to organizations where I know most of my dollar goes to the people who really need it and not to overhead.

Pelican I like your idea. I do find it harder to contribute my time now that I have family, even though having a family makes me feel more like giving.

I feel that it is much more useful and satisfying to donate your time and effort instead of your money.
