I worked across the street from the WTC for both the bombing and 9/11. I will take time to reflect about it. My kids don't have any awareness of the event but if they get curious, we'll take time to help them understand it.
This has a whole new meaning for me ,it's so sad.
I will take time to remember and honor the day, and celebrate our freedom.
Our family will set aside some time to reflect and honor the lives of those that died in this violent tragedy--and to pray that it never happens again!
At first I was surprised by how many people said they would not be commemorating but, now that I think of it, 9/11 really only directly impacted a small part of the US.
We will pray for continued healing for the families affected by the loss, that nothing like this will happen again, and for continued protection over those that serve (military, fire, police, ems, etc). However, we will not be going out and physically doing anything. I actually don't plan on leaving the house at all that day except for church and to Walmart real quick to get my paper. My sister's birthday is that day and we are celebrating tonight.
I will honor the day in my heart. Several people I knew were in the towers and died, and living in NYC at the time, it was one of the worst days of my life as it was for so many Americans.
our church had special services devote to tody's memory and i put up my flag
