Have you ever been to New Orleans?

New Orleans has been partying since the Saints won the Superbowl.   The spirit of Mardi Gras helped unite the city after Hurricaine Katrina five years ago.  Have you ever been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, or another holiday? Do you celebrate Fat Tuesday in your hometown?  Please tell us, we want to know.

I visited New Orleans for a friends wedding years ago and it was one of the greatest cities I have visited. The city has the greatest food, music, architecture, spirit, and history! I try to celebrate Mardi Gras when I can. It is just a feel good holiday.

I live in northwest Louisiana. I go to New Orleans (it is about a 5 hour drive) about twice a year. I have been there for Mardi Gras, Jazz Festival, Sugar Bowl and just because I wanted to go. I love it there. I was there about a year after Hurricane Katrina and the city still looked bare. Now, the city is thriving again!!! Everyone needs to go. If you don't drink or party there are still many things that you can do!!!

Sorry the whole Mardi Gras thing never interested me. I guess I was raised a little to old fashion or just got the wrong impression of the "flashing" for beads... And everyone being a little to full of alcohol all day long. Makes me sad because I think I would enjoy the music, history and food. I will say I am very happy that the Saint won since the Steeler's didn't make it this year.

New Orleans is one of the most beautiful places I have been! There is so much history and it's just so neat. I did go for Mardi Gras, and that was amazing too. This was a few years ago, and I would love to make it back there sometime in the near future!

I agree with many of the comments! I visited NO for the first time a year before Katrina happened. There were many wonderful things about the city; a steamboat tour, seeing Faberge' works of art at the museum, eating amazing food. I am so, so happy for the city of New Orleans about the Saints' win! I hope it brings many wonderful things to the residents!

I haven't been to New Orleans, but would love to someday. I've heard how great it is, so I'd like to see for myself one day.

My family and I have always wanted to visit New Orleans. With such a rich history it's hard to resist. Hopefully one day we will get the chance.

I had to say no, granted it would be a neat place to see in passing someday. I'd love to lean about the rich history and the great foods, but I'm not a fan of big crouds and fast paced life style. You take me to any of the national or state parks, or out in the wide open ranching country, where I can go camping, fishing, hiking, being able to see the wonders of nature in it's grand splender on horse back, visit with the native americans so that I may learn more about my history and herritage, that is where my true interests are.

I have never been there and from what I have heard/seen, it just wouldn't be a trip I would enjoy.
