Do you prefer shopping online (vs. in stores) for the holidays? If so, what is the biggest reason?

For those of us who prefer to shop online for the holidays, there are many benefits.  You can shop at many online "stores" without fighting the crowds or driving all over town.  There is a lot of selection online, and the deals can be very good. 

What is the main reason you prefer shopping online?  Are there some holiday items you still prefer to buy online?  Let us know!

Yes, I like to avoid the crowds (20.4%)

    I like shopping online because I can do it at night when my kids are asleep and also at work (my boss isn't reading this, right?!!) I love to be part of the holiday excitement at the stores, but I have dozens of people to buy for in my family, and these days I just don't have time to go to stores to get everything I need.

    I like to avoid crowds and it is convenient. In some cases, there is more selection online. Also, sites usually offer free shipping during the holidays and there are even sites, like MLB Shop, that don't charge tax. Great deals are for the taking if you know where to shop online.

    I hate the holiday crowds, and I feel as though I save money online. Many websites offer the same or better deals as the physical stores, no sales tax, and free or reduced price shipping. An added bonus is that many stores will accept returns from online purchases. Amazon.com has great deals year-round, and I find that the online reviews that most websites offer give me the opportunity to do research that I wouldn't necessarily do in-store.

    I like to shop online because I can do it when I feel the need. I don't have to find a babysitter or pack the kids up and fight with them to leave the house with out a fight!LOL! Oh did I mentioned I don't need gas, now that is a money saver so ok I may have to pay for s&h. That is ok in my book!

    i like to shop in stores. online u cant try things on and may have to send back. plus the smells and sounds arent online. hands on is better. i enjoy shopping in store.

    I like shopping in the stores. I do it all year round so I normally don't get big crowds. When I do the last minute shopping its quick and easy since its only 1 or 2 gift. Threw out the year there seem to be good deals I find so it helps.

    I do not like shopping in the stores in my home town. I can never find what I want. Prices tend to be a bit pricey in all the stores in my hometown due to the fact that all major cities are 200 miles away!

    I have six young children, so shopping online is essential. Otherwise, I do not usually get to shop for my children since they are always with me!

    Shopping on line is the greatest. You can compare prices so easily to get the best deal all while drinking a glass of wine by the fire.

    I like shopping online because it not only saves me time and is convenient but I also can research which online retailer has the best price for the item I want to purchase and you often get really good deals such as free shipping.
