They are having town meetings to discuss and get peoples ideas and Republicans are showing up and yelling and making noise and disrupting these meetings. Everyone needs to get involved at this level. The rich Republicans own the Pharmacuetical and health companies. One insurance company made billions of dollars last year. My husband and I are on SS disability and are both" high risk" so I have to keep my ins. from my last job at $1010 per month plus Dental at $1200 a year. We still have to pay deductibles and meds. We spend at least $ 20,000 per year. Medicare doesn't help with meds and I am on 9 different kinds. We have been forced to get loans against our house. We use the local food shelf and I use COUPONS from all over. We do not qualify for welfare benefits. But people can come from other countries and get everything free. alot of families lose their homes because of the cost of medical problems . People with Gov. jobs get free or really cheap ins.

I visited friends in Canada who have universal health care and are very unhappy with the wait for seeing a doctor, the wait for having minor surgery. My friend had to wait 6 months before she could have minor surgery on her foot the day of surgery she had a fever they pushed her surgery back another 3 months, she was not very happy.

I have a bad feeling about the idea as whole! Those with health insurance in "my opinion", are the ones that will suffer.

I also have friends in the UK with universal heatth care and do not like it either. It takes forever to be approved to have surgery. I would also like to comment on the post that was made that claimed Republicans were showing up screaming and yelling at town meetings, I really believe that you should investigate the claims you make before making them. You say you and your husband are on SS disability well good luck to you if this takes affect because according to Obama you will be just given pain medicine and sent home to die!

My concerns are about the planning put into the proposal. I have heard more negative opinions about the plan instead of good reviews. Maybe rework what is already working to make it more affordable rather than put a new untest plan into action at what could possibly be a tremendous cost.

I'm no expert on this issue but quality products & services plus lower costs typically come from competition in the marketplace. When companies compete for business, the consumer benefits through cheaper prices and higher quality goods and services. I see car insurance company advertisements convincing us that they can provide high quality service with cost saving premiums AND from employees who 'care'. Why would health care be any different?

I work in the low income communities everyday and one of the main concerns from home owners and business owners is the cost of Health Care. THe affordablity of Health Care for themselves and there workers was a huge topic of discussion. Just recently we had a form we people came out to voice there concerns about the lack of Health care coverage and how much it is costing the local doctors offices and how the local hospital are being over crowed with people that are coming to the er because they can not afford to go to the dr. I think something needs to be done soon, but it need to be a plan were it benfit, everyone.
