Have you ever purchased a beauty product "as seen on TV?"

Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.

We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

I have not bought anything from and Infomercial, in fact I refuse to even watch them. They items that I may have bought were from a television ad on the regular programming.

i purchased the bumpits and am still very satisfied with them. The only thing is you have to put bobby pins to hold them into place. But still am satisfied.

My most recent purchase was the E-Z Combs. I really like these combs because they hold my hair up and I can lean my head back in my car or on the couch and not get the back of my head messed up like with other clips and such. I have found that if you can be patient and wait a little while you will be able to buy it at Walgreens or various othr local stores within a few months of seeing it on t.v.! And then you won't have to pay shipping and handling charges.

I purchased smooth away and found that it was great at removing facial hair and leg hair...it is a little tricky to use for the underarm and bikini areas

I haven't bought the beauty items but I did buy the steam mop - my husband used it once and the handle broke! Plus you can only clean a couple of feet before replacing the pad - for huge rooms it's not a good deal. The E-Z combs and the smooth away are now available at Fry's also ... and even Wal-Mart has them!

Yes I purchased the Total Body Makeover and it was great. Very user friendly. Fun to use, and I lost 8 pounds in the first week!

I have purchases workout videos, make-up, mani/pedi kits and some cleaning products from infomercials, but before I purchase anything from an infomercial I do my research. I also know which infomercial companies I can trust (Billy Mayes was a little annoying, but every product of his worked!). More often than not, I will wait for the product to show up in the TV aisle at Walgreens, Target or Wal-mart. Then I save the S&H.

I bought the bumpit hair piece. It did what it said it would but it probably cost 2.00 to make it and they charged 20.00 and then another 20.00 for the video to show you how to use it.
