The applicator was a bit difficult in that the top part would often slipped down causing a bit of a mess and sometimes wouldn't click and lock. However, they were extremely portable and could fit inconspicuously into my bag or small purse. I always use this brand! Love it! Tampax Pearl were the very first tampons I ever used and I have been happy with them since then. Super cute, but the pocket size situation and clicking to lengthen makes things tricky. I had an issue with the applicator retracting after it was clicked into place, usually while inserting. Then there was the whole mess of trying to figure out how to fix it after that happened. Besides that, it was a good product. I would buy if on sale I would have to say that they worked just as good as most others that I have tried. I had no issues with these. They are relatively absorbent for a normal flow situation, as would be indicated by the "regular" label, but I would recommend a back up or completely different absorbency if you suspect it'll be a heavy flow day.
