Shedd's Spread Country Crock Our family for the most part has used margarine for years. Don't get me wrong I do love real butter, however in the real world that is not always easy or economical item to come by. I have cooked with margarine all of my life. Recently I was given the opportunity to try Country Crock as apart of a try and review campaign. Immediately I decided to try baking our favorite cookies to have a fair taste comparison. I didn't tell them I had used a new brand, because I wanted to see if they could taste the difference. You know what, not one peep out of them. Not one "whats wrong, these taste funny" remark. We have been using the Country Crock for everything the past few weeks. I decided to do a bit of research to find out the "goods" on Country Crock and here is what I found. Country crock is a healthy alternative. Contains 79% less saturated fat and 40% fewer calories than butter and no cholesterol. - Light (half the fat and calories of butter) - Spreadable Butter (made with a touch of butter and real Canola Oil) - Churn Style (rich, creamy, sweet, fresh-from-the-farm butter taste) - Omega Plus (made with nutritious oils such as soybean and canola and has 500-mg of Omega-3 ALA per serving) - Omega Plus Light (made with nutritious oils such as soybean and canola and has 310-mg of Omega-3 ALA per serving) - Spreadable Sticks (spread and mix in easily straight from the fridge) I found Country Crock easy to spread even straight out of the refrigerator on toast. Therefore after the "taste testing and spreadable testing" Country Crock will be a keeper in our home.
