In my list of Top 20! Was randomly given to me and was not sure if I would like it. I still remember it!!

Rather depressing to me because I prefer a happier or an educational book. But the characters were well developed in the book, and in the movie as well. I did enjoy the movie better, due to Robert Pattinson! But I had to put this book down for a while, due to medical issues of a family member, and after several months, I was "stirred" to continue reading to the end!

book is better than the movie - i really liked this one!

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster! I went from happy to angry to sad to angry then to sad then back to happy again. It's beautifully written and keeps you interested from start to finish. I love the actors in the film adaptation but the book is definitely better. Much more detail. Plus, who doesn't love that era?!

Seen the movie, now wanna read the story! I am very surprised to see this book "Water for Elephants" here cuz I've seen the movie version a few years back and I've loved it so much. It was so emotional watching it and I've even found myself cheering for the animals...especially my favorite, the elephant. Now there is a book I can read...I'm very sure it's going to more detailed and with that, I'm very excited to buy this. Cant hardly wait!

Good read I really enjoyed this book, but I am not entirely sure about the excitement and raving some folks do, it was entertaining, but not groundbreaking or life changing.

Good get away book As a book dreamer, this one fits perfectly for a way to escape for a bit. It was an entertaining and quick read. I would definitely recommend adding it to a summer reading list.

Absolutely superb This is one that I wasn't to sure about when it first came out. But I was pleasantly surprised by the book and movie. It was superb and worth the time to read and watch. I'd buy again.

LOVED IT! We read it as part of our book club - what a great read! I read ALOT of fiction and I still remember this story line over a year later!

Absolutly loved this book! A must read!

Water for Elephants is one of those rare books that both men and women can relate to and enjoy reading. I shared this book with my father, mother, partner, and adult children and we unanimously enjoyed the read. The story is engaging, the writing descriptive without dragging and the characters are believable and pull at our emotions. Beautifully told, read it before seeing the movie!

Absolutely one of the best books I've read. Not typically the type of book I would choose to read, but I am so glad I did! The book is now making the rounds of my family and friends. Its a hit!

One of my very favorite books. I highly recommend it for a book club.

This is by far one of my favorites. I really enjoy reading period pieces of days gone by, and her writing is just wonderful. Great story.

I LOVED this book. I got it as a gift and didn't read it for a year because I thought it looked boring. I do love elephants though, so I decided to give it a try. I admit that for the first half of the book, I was like, where's the elephant? By then I was very involved with all of the wacky but endearing characters. I learned quite a bit about the circus. Didn't think I'd care but it really was very interesting. When the Elephant was introduced, I was in love! She was smart and funny and I wanted a real one. I hated the guy who was mean to her. HATE!! You'll see. Read it, you won't be sorry!
