I bought some for christmas this year and they wouldnt melt right.

used this product to coat my oreo truffles, the first batch of morsels I microwaved melted and separated into oily globs. for the second batch I used the defrost option on my microwave and would pause to stir defrost again. After a few time the morsels became a creamy consistancy to dip the truffles. tedious but it worked.

these chips sunk to the bottom of my brownies and turned to a hard goo like mixture ruining the whole pan :( Spend a little more and get the real thing

Do not be tempted to use these as a substitute for white chocolate just because they're cheaper!! I used this product in a cookie recipe calling for white chocolate, and the cookies were terrible. The morsels did not melt at all and fell off all the cookies. There is a reason they do not actually use the word "chocolate" on the package. There isn't even any cocoa butter in them. In fact, the only natural ingredient listed is milk. No wonder they taste so artificial. I will never buy these again.

I completely agree. I used this for a recipe around Christmas and it turned out horrible. I am definitely going back to white chocolate bars or Ghiradelli (sp?).

I also tried these for a recipe that called for melted white chocolate. The end product was supposed to be dry/firm, but it was kinda greasy and very messy. The taste wasn't good either.

I wasn't happy with these either. Nestle does not melt nice anymore and they were a bit grainy in consistency.

They were a grainy in consistency

I feel the same way about all Nestle products. It isn't real chocolate. All Nestle is powdery and flaky. Not made with a cocoa bean either! I do not and will not buy these. Hershey's is WAY better.

I never was a fan of white chocolate. Give me good ol' Toll House (semi sweet) morsels any day! ^_^
