I bought this movie and was told to and was given the book to read before doing so. I didnt and loved the movie. Didnt like the ending too much but it was a good movie. I have read books before watching the movie and have been disappointed so I didnt want to do that this time.

This is an incredible movie. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. A little bit of every emotion is felt in this movie. 5 stars

I thought "The Help" was an incredible movie. It was written in such a way that you felt every emotion of each character. I laughed hysterically, I cried a few times (feelings of joy and sorrow). I felt very connected with each character and wanted to jump in and give my thoughts to them. The selection of actors/actresses was superb. Just an overwhelmingly terrific movie. I hope it wins big at the Oscars!

great movie, learned much about the old days, that I neverk new, There were many great actors in this movie

This is a movie that I will say I didn't think I would like at first as drama is not my typical genre of movies. I was curious though because of all the hype about the book and movie. I am so glad I saw the movie and since watching it I have also read the book. Now if you read the book, the movie is pretty true, there are just some pieces I noticed weren't in the movie or were changed. The Help is a movie about a twenty-something white girl, Skeeter, who dreams of becoming a writer. Now in the 1960s women maybe went to college but they did so only to meet men, start families and have babies. Skeeter decides she wants to write a book on the point of view of the help, which you can only imagine how controversal it would have been. She secretly does this with the help of Abileen, her friend's maid, who then recruits other maids. It is amazing how the white women thought they were so much better than their maids, who actually raised them and their children, as well as cleaning and cooking for them. I cried, I laughed and I rooted for the characters in the movie. The actresses in the movie did an awesome job portraying their characters and I don't think I would have changed anything. I can actually watch the movie and not get sick of it as I still keep on laughing. All I have to say too is chocolate pie will never be the same to me?

awesome movie

I thought this movie was amazing! It made you laugh, cry, and caused you experience a variety of emotions. I never got bored watching it! My husband really enjoyed it too, so it is a movie for men too!

Best movie I have seen all year! Made me laugh, cry, it was such a good story

I cant believe this was not nominated for an Oscar. It was the most captivating movie I had seen in a while, so true and uplifting. I had not read the book beforehand because I didnt want to ruin the movie for myself or my friend who watched it with me. We stayed glued to the TV from the beginning to end there was a twist and turn. The actors and actresses choice was phenominal as if they were the real intended people invoved, it was as if I was watching Breaking News. The author really is amazing for such a storyline and its sad the Oscars didnt see the true potential for such a heatfelt movie that had many crying in their seats.

I read this book on Mothers Day 2 years ago. Could not put it down. Thank goodness it was my day to do nothing. Finished it in two days. I enjoyed the movie even more. I felt they stayed true to the story line.

They did a really good job with this movie. I usually love the book alot more than the movie but I was very impressed at how well done the movie was. I recommend both the book and movie. They made some changes in the movie but it didn't make the message change. Read the book and see the movie both are great.

I read the book several years ago and was a bit sceptical to watch the movie as they tend to omit, add, change things about the books when they are made into movies. I was so very surprised that I to discover that for the most part, the movie stayed pretty close to the book.

"The Help'' brings to the screen universal story, full of emotion, humor and hope, about the ability to make a difference. Story full of inspiration and strength, centering on bold and amusing characters, that make the heroines of their own life. Take a tissue and run to see!

This movie was incredibly moving and I cried at least once if not more. The characters are really strong and given a lot of depth so that we know how and why they think the things they do, which is rare in films these days it seems. I will watch this movie over and over, and when my daughter is old enough I will definately have her view it as well. I think it's important to always look back at history and see how minorities were treated and remind ourselves of where we have been and how we have grown - and this movie does just that with an amazing personal story of the housemaids/child care givers of the South in the 60's.

This movie is on the top of my favorites list. I consider my favorites to be movies that I can watch over and over again, and never get tired of seeing them. This movie is one of those. I absolutely adore it! Emma Stone's character Skeeter is a wonderful person. Skeeter told people like it was and didn't care what they thought about her. She came off as fearless and went after whatever she wanted. My favorite character was Minny played Octavia Spencer. Well let me just say this nobody messes with Minny. I will never see chocolate pie as the same as I did before the movie. The cast is great and the movie tells a wonderful story! LOVE IT!!!
