Great movie, I've seen it twice. The story line was fascinating and the actors were top notch, I would recommend the book and the movie. This has to be one of my favorite movies.

I wasn't overly impressed with this movie. It's a decent movie to watch if there is nothing else to watch. However, I think it was drawn out and it didn't come across as realistic enough to suit my fancy.

I love this movie. It is one of those movies that you can watch multiple times and still laugh every time. If you havent seen it yet, rent it... or better yet buy it, because you will want to watch it again!

I loved this movie. I cried when I watched it. I felt for some of the people in it. I loved the saying in the movie most of all : you is kind, you is smart an so forth. Things like that appeal to me. I made my teenagers watch it as well. I have watched it several times. It is one I would own. Think I will see if Netflix has it just so I can watch it again.

Get your tissues ready! I love this movie and have watched it several times. The story is heart breaking and heart warming. You will be shocked, happy, sad a roller coaster of emotions. You see a story being written, people changing, relationships growing, independence growing and people coming together and apart at the seams! This movie won awards and deserved too! I highly recommend this movie and please pay attention to the pie!

One of thee best movies of our era!

I am a true believer that the book will always be better than the movie. However, this movie is exceptionally well done and follows the book as closely as it can without being 8 hours long. It is also such a great stand alone movie, where people could enjoy it without knowing there was a book first. This movie is one of my top favorites and I place it right up there with Steel Magnolias. It has such heart and evokes so much emotion. It gives a true life portrayal of what life was actually like back then. I would tell anyone and everyone to see this movie. It is a classic and will be around for years to come.

This movie though a shinning achievement in civil rights is a shallow rendition of a hate filled and violent time in American history. It uses cheap jokes and used cliches. If you like the actors then there is nothing that will stop you from seeing this. I wouldn't recommend this movie expect for the end revenge scene. However, if you can stomach this movie that long then by all means you'll enjoy this movie. In short, this movie is mediocre at best but if you want a light hearted comedy about one of Americans most recent violent times then by all means rent this movie and enjoy is for the cheap thrill that it is.

I love this movie, the story is very heartwarming and a little sad at the same time. My kids and I watched it the first time together. It was sad to see what some of the women during this period in time had to deal with. And it was great seeing people stand up for them. There is quite a bit of humor in the movie as well, which makes the story. It is a longer than usual movie, but I feel it needed to be in order to tell the story in the proper way. The actresses and actors they chose for this movie worked very well.
