The movie is never nearly as good as the book, which is something I have come to learn over the years. If you read and loved the books then you know that the movie skips over some details that would have been very easy to correct. It is also difficult to follow if you haven't read the books because there is very little commentary. Overall, good story. Good movie.

The movie picks up extremely slowly, I didn't start to wake up and get to sit at the edge of my seat until almost 2/3rds into the movie, that is where all the action starts to play out so expect a little bit of a yawn at the beginning, other then that, this movie was OK, I went to read the book since I know by experience that the books are always better then the movies!

Pretty good following the book, though it could have stayed a bit more true. Overall it is a good movie to see even if you haven't read the book.

Who HASN'T seen the movie? Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson star in this adaptation of Suzanne Collins' original first book of the Hunger Games trilogy, and the movie does NOT disappoint. Staying extremely true to the book (maybe a bit more so than one would like), the director did a great job reimagining the Hunger Games Capitol and especially the fabulous atmosphere of the Arena. Elizabeth Banks is a really terrific Effie - no, seriously, I LOVED her character - and JLaw isn't too bad as Katniss, either. Wonderful overall. If you haven't seen it, check it out!

Good movie to watch. Would be more better if they did what was exactly written on the book.

Was a action packed movie, I liked it but the meaning of kids killing kids isn't a great idea...

This movie is thrilling and very enjoyable to watch. Aside from Peeta. He felt pretty awkward to watch. Hopefully in the next installment of this series, he'll be nicer to watch.

Movie almost as good as the book, and that is rare to find!

I loved the books so I watched the movie and oh my I loved it as well. Granted the movie isn't exactly like the book the director did an amazing job at keeping it true to the book.

This was a good movie. My daughter had to have the DVD when it came out.

This was a very good, however a little graphic so younger children probably shouldn't watch, but tweens, teens and adults can all find this very entertaining. I can not wait for the second one to come out.

At first I didn't really like this movie but after I watched it for a 2nd time it started to grow on me.....Now I like it and soo ready to see the next one! lol

I was expecting to be let down by this film, but it was a pleasant surprise! Love Jennifer Lawerence.

This was a good movie and perhaps a good look into an apocalyptic future. It wasn't too hard to figure out how it would end. I'm looking forward to the next movie.
