I was a new cook when we bought this book it was our first one ever. It was a great cook book my husband and I still use it to make things and it's been awhile lol. I especially loved the meatloaf and cheese Cake. HAPPY COOKING!!!

I received this as a gift and love the recipes! Good variety. My favorite is still the peanut butter cookie recipe that my mom used when I was a kid. Also like that their is a measuring conversion chart.

This is a classic. I love using this cookbook in my home.

This was a staple in my mother's kitchen and has been a staple in my own kitchen for many years. When my daughter left home, I bought one for her because I know she will use many great recipes and tips from this book. It is a great book for a shower or someone just starting out on their own. Classic.

My parents had this cookbook while I was growing up. I love it. When got married, I bought myself one. 14 years later, I'm still using it. It teaches a lot of basic recipes and cooking methods.

I use this cookbook almost every night, not only for recipes but sometimes just to find out the right temperature I need for my chicken in the oven; or how long to keep a meatloaf. My mom appreciates not getting so many phone calls now! And my roommate loves my meals :)

Love all of the Betty Crocker cookbooks!!!

This cookbook should be a staple in everyone's kitchen. I use this cookbook so much mine is falling apart at the binding. Everything you need to know about the basics of cooking is in this cookbook. I grew up using this cookbook with my mother and when I got my own home my mom gave me a copy of this cookbook for my home. I use this cookbook cooking with my duaghter now and when she gets her own home, I will be giving her a copy of this cookbook also. That's the great thing about this book: not only is it useful, it also creates family traditions.

This is my favorite cookbook. I own many cookbooks and love to cook and bake. This is my gold standard that I turn to for classic recipes that I want to turn out perfect. It has all the basics, helpful cooking tips, recipe conversions and more. I have owned and used this for 20 years and still love it. I highly recommend this for a shower gift, someone just learning to cook, or someone who loves to make big family holiday dinners. You wont be dissapointed

I have used this cookbook for over 30 years. I check out the newer versions from the library, but mine that I have had for 33 years is my kitchen staple. My mother used this, and when I got married I purchased my own copy. It is now tattered and torn, and held together with rubber bands. I do get the updated recipies from the newer versions, and photocopy them. This cookbook is excellent for both experienced cooks and novices. The recipies are easy to follow, and the additional information in the back, like the test kitchen tips, and charts on how to cook certain items like vegetables, Also the meal planning guides and nutrition guides, table settings, calorie guides make this a must have for any kitchen.

My mother has her copy from the 1960's and I have a copy from when I got married in 1998. I just love it. I have learned so much. The basics on cooking meat to delicious desserts. I always find a dish to make to bring to a church dinner. Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook is the best.

The Better Homes Cookbook has been a staple in my home since I got married back in 1993! The cookbook has an easy layout so that any cook, experienced or not can find just the right recipe. I keep this must-have cookbook right next to my stove so that I can have quick access to it at all times. Not only do I love the recipes in the Better Homes cookbook but I also love all the other tidbits in it like the useful information about cooking temperatures, substituations and even weights and measures. I always make a little note next to each recipe that I make so that in the future I can see how many times I have prepared each one. I make it a point to give the Better Homes cookbook as a bridal shower present because I know that it will be used for many years to come.

This was one of my first cook books that I had gotten before I had gotten married. There step by step instructions are easy to follow. I love the pictures that go along with the recipes. I know Better Homes and Garden cookbooks have update and published several books over the years and I have several of them an every one of them are just as great as my first one.

This was my first cookbook that I received once I started cooking on my own when I was about 16. I have cooked almost every recipe and this is one book I have not passed up. I have in turned bought this book for other new home owners or new cooks in hopes they love it as much as I do. It is easy to follow and has great pictures. This is the only book you'll need.

This is the best every day basic cookbook, every kitchen should have this in their cupboard. I use this one all the time for many different recipes whether it is banana bread, cole slaw or chicken marsala, it so tired and worn that the pages are coming out. As a matter of fact, my mother has this exact same cookbook. Whenever anyone asks for a cookbook recommendation, this is the one I tell them.
