caution I think the idea of this toy is great, though I know some moms were having issues where they were finding mold inside them. I personally didnt have any problems but as a preventative I did toss ours out. The giraffe is super adorable, and helped with teething issues so that's a bonus.

Adorable, but a More Afforable Version is Avail I don't normally like to add less than 4/5 stars, but I have to give you a mom to parent review on this. Sofie is adorable and is very trendy, but for the price, you can get the GaGa Elephant teether from target for half the price, and it's exactly the same material. We had a Sofie for my first son, but realized this and just got a GaGa for my second, and believe me, he didn't care :)

Wish it could be washed. But love it. I absolutely love this giraffe. I've gotten every one of my children one. Only downfall is she is hard to clean because you can't get water inside of her. Even with this as a downfall, my kids absolutely couldn't go anywhere without thier giraffe.

Is a nice toy...but I do not think that it is worth 28 or more dollars. Personally my daughter never used it as a teether.

Hit or Miss? LO played and chewed on it but it wasn't a must for us. I'd read such great reviews saying it was a must and while it's nice being that it's easy to hold onto and natural rubber it wasn't something that we couldn't live without.

A fan favorite, but gross inside My first baby loved this giraffe and chewed on it a ton. Then I thought about how gross the inside of it is.. you can't wash it easily without getting water inside it. Skipped it for my second baby.

Neither love or hate it I have a love hate relationship with Sophie! Love because it is child friendly. The paint on it is not toxic, it can be chewed on all around, it is enticing enough for kids to chew on. However, it is not good for babies! I felt like my baby didn't have the skill to grab it and put it in her mouth. I had to look at recommended age and I felt it was too young. Another thing to note is after a while it gets weird and gross. For a $20-$25 chew toy I'd want it to last longer.

Ok Gift I just got this a a baby shower gift for my niece I will say it was very cute and seemed like a very sturdy toy for a child but I could not get over the price

He loves his sophie My son is 5 months old and has been teething about two weeks now, he has 2 teeth poking thru. The Sophia is fairly easy to grip, lightweight and soft to bite on and the squeaky noise .. eh i could do without, my son doesn't really care about the noise but my dog goes crazy when he hears it lol. I like to give my son options for teethers, some are harder than others, I've found the past two days he's opted for his Sophie over the harder teethers.

My son played with this toy for at least a year and a half, they only thing with it is it collects dirt and fuzzies. He didn't care to chew on it though.

Sophie was a lifesaver when our kid was teething. It took her a while to figure out Sophie squeaks so it made for a nice toy that alleviate pain for her. We were grateful to have Sophie!

A MUST HAVE! Sophie is a staple baby item in our home. She pretty much goes with my boys everywhere. Really amazing for teething and super fun with her squeaks. Kind recommendation to keep her out of the water and just wipe her down with a damp microfiber towel because she gets yucky easily!! Worth it though! I took off one star because I do personally think her price is a bit high.

My daughter LOVED Sophie. It was by far her favorite teething toy. She actually played with it for months after she was done teething also. It is a bit of a pricy initial investment but well worth it.

Sophie is a pretty good toy, however I'd say it's for a bit older babies. My son is 4 months and got a Sophie at 1 month when my in-laws threw a baby shower. I gave it to him to play with somewhere between 2.5-3 months when he really started grasping at things and he seemed to like holding it but couldn't quite work it into his mouth. He just didn't really understand how to angle it. However until they are a bit older I would really suggest using the Sophie brand lion. It is smaller and has more areas to use to put in their mouths. Then once they have really learned how to use that, transition to Sophie. I know I've heard good things about the elephant too so that might be a good transition toy too for those babies who have trouble with Sophie at first.

The only reason I knocked it down a peg is the price. I understand that it is natural rubber, but really $30!?!?! Otherwise, it is worth it. My baby loves it. Every child I know loves it. They are just naturally drawn to her I suppse. I feel good about her chewing on something natural. I wouldn't want to pay the money for it myself, so I always buy it as a baby shower gift now so no one will have to fret over spending that much on a teether for themselves.
