Rooney Mara is incredible! I think the remake is much better than the original Swedish version. It helps if you've read the books and seen the Swedish movies. I read on Wikipedia, they are going to make "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest." Even though they were true to the book, I did not like the ending either. Poor Lisbeth...I'd like to see her and Blomkvist continue their relationship....GOOD MOVIE!

really hated the end of this movie. not sure if they are making another ... but it was not that great

liked the story, but the character development was HORRIBLE.

My hubby and I watched this together and overall we really enjoyed it and thought the mystery of the story was outstanding. Some of the content was unexpected but when she got her payback I was feeling much better about it all. There was a lot of going back and forth between the two main characters and their stories until it comes together but we liked it. I would def say this movie is for very mature audiences that can handle violence, especially against women.

I have not read any of the books in this series but so many people around me have been raving about them that I thought I was kind of excited to finally see this movie. Sadly, I didn't care for it much. It was not what I thought it was going to be . . . thought it was going to be more of an action thing where the girl would be some Angelina Jolie kickass rebel, but no. The rape was disturbing but hubby and I were cheering for her when she got her revenge. I thought it was weird and pointless though when she later had the relationship with Daniel Craig. I don't see what that added to the story. The mystery story itself was somewhat interesting, but overall I was just rather let down by this movie. That was probably due to my own misconceptions going into it though.

I read the book first before seeing the movie. I alway try to do this. I loved the book, but felt the movie left so much out. The actors were wonderful.

I read the book and then saw the movie. Rooney Mara is incredible as Lizbeth and captured her essence perfectly. I never would have thought to cast Daniel Craig as her counterpart but he did very well. The only miss may have been Kelly Preston as his editor but she had a small role. Books give you such depth in character development that movies may need to leave on the cutting room floor. You don't have to read the book to understand the movie but it helps enormously to have you understand the characters.

This movie was much better than the book

I have to admit that I have not seen this movie yet but I have read the book and I am looking forward to seeing the movie.. I did want to add a review though .. based on the book. The book is great but very dark! Just a for warning before you see the movie.. There are some very deep content issues and I would def NOT let a teenager see this. VERY ADULT content ...

Very interesting story with dramatic scenes! I loved the intrigue and the story line of this movie, However, for me it was kind of confusing if you haven't read the book.

I started to read the book a couple of times and just couldn't get into it. Of course I didn't want to see the movie but was outvoted one day and went along with what everyone else wanted to see. I was surprised, this is a great movie! The story was very interesting and kept my attention the entire time. For anyone that wants to see it, be advised that there were a few very unexpected and disturbing scenes in it, so it s definitely not for the squeamish!

This movie will grab you by the knees and keep you held down! So very different from the same, blah plot movies being mass-produced. The storyline is detailed and captivating. Very realistic and off the mainstream path. Life is not always pretty, people! Would definitely recommend for storyline, acting, and detail. LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

I rarely write movie reviews but this film prompted me to want to write one. First, if you haven't watched this movie, be warned that there will be some really disturbing rated-R scenes (example: a "rape" scene). A friend that suggested we go watch this movie ended up sitting out for the rest of the movie because she couldn't handle the rape scene and was afraid there would be more similar scenes like it. The rape scene was a turn-off and just plain gross. I was a little lost to what was happening at the beginning of the movie, but once it started becoming graphic I started paying more attention. The plot is actually quite unique and well-written if you overlook the other immoral elements. I don't think I would re-watch this since the first time was already still vivid in my mind and I'm not sure I want to re-live it. It is also definitely not a date movie. I would feel uncomfortable sitting in a movie like that with a date since the movie has a lot of controversial elements in it. Only go see this with close friends or your spouse. Be forewarned.

This was the most captivating and stunning movie I've seen this year. The cinematography, acting, and the amazing story won me over. I loved the main character's style too! I was definitely inspired to change up my style a little bit. I hope this movie wins for Best Picture of the year.
