I have to say I really like it. I am not at all a morning person and have had a hard time waking up for years. My husband hates it because I either have to be jolted out of bed by loud alarms or else he has to come and physically wake me. This of course I like and is a nicer way to wake up than blaring music or beeping. But, I'd been wanting to try to change my schedule to wake up a half hour earlier than I had been, and it just so happened that's when the Phillips light arrived! I've tried it with the birds, that was annoying...I kept hitting snooze. But the chimes or whatever they are I liked much better. With the holiday season and it's changed schedules it's been a challenge to really really test it. But, I've been using it on work days and it's growing on me. I knew it would take some getting used to...but I do believe it works. The bright light helps me start to wake, and while I do tend to just roll over...it start's the waking up process. I would generally recommend it however I only give it 3 stars because of the size and price point which I wouldn't have paid and my friends that are asking about it don't want to pay either.

Good product, not for me. I was so excited to try this product because I have heard such great things about it. I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder as well as depression and I was hoping to be able to wake with more ease and feeling more rested, like I do during the summer months. (Of course that is when it is sunny. Which is not all the time in the Portland Oregon area.} I set the light as instructed to the highest setting and I used the birds sound to wake up by. While using this alarm I woke up feeling tired and I remained tired all day. I thought it was a fluke or that I was coming down with something because it happened several days in a row, on both weekend and week days. I went back to my other alarm and woke feeling rested the next morning. I did try this light again a few weeks later and I woke up just feeling exhausted. I am glad that this works so well for others and wish it worked for myself as well. I will definitely recommend this to my friends because I can still see the value in it for others. This product works exactly as described and is simple to program and use, it just doesn't leave me feeling rested or refreshed.

Overall, I like the Philips-Wake-up-Light. I wish the earlier settings were a little bit dimmer as it woke me up before the lighting was on high. It would be nice if when I turn the alarm off for that morning, it would reset and automatically be set for the next day. I am used to my Ipod waking me up and forgot to re-set the light one evening. It was easy to set up and overall l love the idea of waking up via light instead of an annoying alarm clock.

The Philips Wake Up Light is a really unique product. I like the alarm sounds and the fact that the light level can be adjusted. I use the light and the radio a lot in the evenings. My husband likes the gradual wake-up. However, neither the light nor the alarm wake me up. I'm a heavy sleeper and I've found that I need a loud, annoying, conventional alarm with a big snooze button to wake me.

I had a chance to try out hte Philips Wake up light and let me tell you, it is fantastic, it works well in so many ways and I can't believe I never had this around sooner. Now, I'm able to get up on time and get to work on time without another problem, besides traffic of course, which is uncontrollable, but with my sleep and waking up, I can finally control that and make it matter. Thanks for letting me test out this product.

The lamp is by far the best part of the whole design! The ability to adjust the brightness is wonderful! I love the lamp. I like that you can choose what sound you want to wake up to. I wouldn't say I'm sold on the product though. I don't really wake up to the alarm all the time. When I'm really tired I just sleep right through it. Soo....that's not good. I also believe the price is a little bit extreme for such a product and that's why I wouldn't recommend it to my friend.

The first night I used it I woke up over and over again, sensitive to every sound and light because I wanted to see the alarm in action! since then I have gotten used to how it works, although I do usually wake up before the sound simply by the light filling my room, but it is a nice way to wake up. I like the light/sound/radio functions too. My children also love this little light. I am trying to start me days off on a more positive foot, and the Philips Wake-up light is really helping!

My wake-up light just arrived this afternoon! I'm definitely anxious to try it out as I am not a morning person either. I have only one question: out of all the options, where is the "Sizzling Bacon scent?" ;-) Looking forward to reviewing this "officially" in the next few days...thanks so much for sending me one!

I have been using the wake up light for about 5 days now. the first couple of days I hated it! The second the light even started to come on it woke me up. this is about 30 minutes before I normally wake up. I was not able to go back to sleep so it was really frustrating. The next couple of days have been better. I do like how the radio come on gradually so it doesn't startle me awake like my other alarm clock did. Looking forward to using it more and seeing how I feel.

I don't really require to be woken up since my working schedule is in the afternoon. I am however, the girlfriend of a man who has to wake up super early in the morning. We've been using the Wake-Up Light for about 3 days now and each time has been a peaceful wake up session. Day one, we both woke up when the light was almost at full brightness, fell back asleep and then again woke up once the birds started chirping. I had asked how he liked the light and had said that it was a lot easier and less groggy-like. Unfortunately on day two, he was sleeping in the opposite direction of the light and so, wasn't fazed at all by the alarm. Both days, however, I've woken up. Day 3, I was the one who was completely asleep. In general, I think we both really like the Wake-Up Light.... even if the results differ. It's much more pleasant than a startling alarm. The one thing I would have liked to see would have been more options on the alarm settings - you get 3 (radio, a music note kind of thing, and birds).

This is a great alarm. It has helped me wake up easier and the alarm slowly getting louder is a great feature. I do wish there were differant alarm sounds but that would not stop me from using this product and reccomending it to a friend. I love being able to use this for a night light however if the lamp is left on to long it gets very hot. I would be worried to leave it unattended

I really want to like this, but both my husband & I wake up almost immediately upon the light turning on and then we feel jipped that we missed out on 20-25 minutes of extra sleep. We just haven't gotten used to waking up earlier in the half hour "sunrise cycle" yet. This aside, I do wake up without feeling like I used an alarm and my husband is feeling more energetic in the mornings. I LOVE the lamp aspect of the light. I use it all the time before bed. I also appreciate that it seems to have a back up power source of some sort as the power went off last night and when it came back on the clock still kept all of the settings I had set. We are still experimenting with it to see if we can get used to it.

This light really works. I was a skeptic. But the first day I set this, I could feel the light gradually come on, and later the birds began singing. The birds get really loud by the end; it feels like they are in the bedroom with you. I really love how this works. The only negative is the design. It looks like a small humidifier. I wish it had a different appearance - I don't like the looks of it on my nightstand - doesn't exactly go with my decor. That being said, it is a piece of electronic genius.

While not the easiest to set up and use, we've finally have a way to get my son to get up by himself! We've found that we still use his radio alarm clock because his preferred radio station is and AM station. But, now that we've figured out how to synch alarms and mute the Wake Up Light, he wakes to light and his favorite station.

The first day this came my kids and I sat in the living room and tried every function! We wanted to hear all the sounds and figured it out quite easily with out having to read the instructions ( although I did read them later just cuz!) I love the gradual brightness of the light and the bird sound is just pleasant! I'm not a fan of the size or design. When I opened the box I wasn't prepared for how big it was. It is big and bulky sitting on my night stand and doesn't go with my decor. It is very noticeable, not that I want to hide it, but it takes up a good majority of my night table. It does what it is suppose to do. I can use it as a lamp as I read in bed, and I do feel good sitting by the light or being woken up by the light, but that being said tweaking the look of it or a smaller size would be nice. Although I think I saw on their website they do have a smaller version, this just happens to be what we were sent to test. My only two reasons for giving it 4 out of 5 stars is 1. the size and bulk and 2. the price, even though we were offered the discount to purchase another one it's still just not in my price range for gifts this year. I have and will continue to mention this to others.
