Cast Iron Love I have 3, yes 3, Lodge cast iron skillets. I love the versatility, ease, and everything tastes good when cooked in cast iron. Southern Hospitality Okay, Buckaroos, Let's sit a spell for this review. I grew up on cast iron. EVERYTHING taste better cooked on cast iron. I recently bought another new pan and obviously I had to season it. Now, here's where my head starts spinning. Youngins don't season their iron! What in tarnation? They let it rust. They throw it in the dishwasher... No ma'am. If it's dirty with grease, salt that bad boy first, wipe it down with a paper towel, and a very light coating of hot water and light soap. Coat with lard or oil, then stick in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. It'll last forever if you take care of it right. Love my cast iron! Yeehaw!
