The idea of buying a $25 gift certificate for $10 is great but only if you can do it over the internet. The website wan not working for me so I called the 800 number to make my purchase and the guy was rude. He told me to clean out my cookies and register online and when I tried to do it while I had him on the line he was annoyed that I was unsuccesful and he had to register me himself. He was then very short with me and I tried quickly to complete my transaction and get off the phone. I won't use them again. It's true what they say... "If you have a great experiance somewhere you tell a friend. If you have a horrible experiance you tell 7 friends."

It seems there are many concerns about getting these certificates and then not having them accepted when at the restaurant

My husband and I don't often spend the amount required to be able to redeem the certificate. Our evening certificate requires that we spend $35. - Yet this restaurant is priced so that I could order two of the top priced menu items, and would not meet the required $35. However, the lunch time certificates much easier to redeem.

I think it's a great idea. My sister has used it and had great luck with it with restaurants in her area. In my area, there wasn't many that participated in it. I would definitely do it if there were more places in Delaware that participated.

I live in a smaller town and it really narrows down my restuarant choices. Not only that but 1/2 the time the place I choose is "not available at this time." The deals are great but I've had a restaurant tell me they hate when people come in with those (needless to say I don't eat there anymore). If you can find a good deal on a restaurant you like, buy it!!

Its legitimate, but you have to read the fine print! almost all the places that accept them require a minimum purchase plus a gratuity (somewhere in 18% range)..don't think of it as a "gift card" but more of a coupon.

We live in a not-so small town (about 250,000 people) but there is only one restaurant available. We ate there for our anniversary--the restaurant was great, but the certificate only covered about half of our food and we couldn't use any other promotions with it. It might have been cheaper to skip the certificate and use their promos. I would use this site more if more restaurant choices were available. We did purchase three certificates for a restaurant that closed--Restaurant.com gave us credit to purchase three more! I was very pleased they do this--I just wish we had another place to go!

I have used the site several times. It's absolutely great! The only catch is to be sure there are restaurants in your area. If there are than you can't beat the deals!!! I would love to see their list continue to grow.

I like the website and offers. There aren't a lot of choices in my area, but I have been able to use a few. You just need to be careful and read the terms of each one because they are different depending on the restaurant and also whether you are buying a $25 for $2 or $10 for $25....etc. It's a good deal though and I like being able to get a little discount going out to eat at a place I'd probably go anyway.

I love this website! I received gift certificates that should have cost $25 for only $2 by signing up for their e-mail. All you have to do is purchase them, then print them off the website. You don't even have to wait for them to come in the mail. I have noticed that if you tell them up front that you have this gift certificate that your service declines, so I recommend waiting to show it to them until time for the bill! :) Otherwise, I buy them for vacations, or just a night out in town. The restaurants aren't prevalent, so pick and chose a favorite or try something new.

Ive used them a few times but I never remember about it until its too late. I have bought gift cards and never used them. But all in all I think this is a great idea! Its a great way to try out new places you don't want to actually drop 25 on! Ive used it while traveling and when I moved to a new town.

I love this site. It lets me try new restaurants that I have been wanting to try with a great discount!

Love this site when it has the restaurant you want just because they're always running deals 70-80% of gift certificate prices.

I've had a lot of success with restaurant.com. My favorite local restaurant participates and I buy gift certificates regularly. It's essentially paying a small fee for a coupon. It's not like a regular gift certificate, most have minimum amounts that you must spend in order to be able to use the gift certificate, along with other stipulations specific to the restaurant (only valid for dine-in, may only use a gift certificate once per month, etc.) The restaurant that I go to has even rewarded the use of these gift certificates with extra freebies (free dessert) on occasion. I think the mixed reactions show that how much you like the site depends on where you live and what restaurants in your area accept the gift certificates. It's definitely worth checking out what restaurants in your area participate.

Why Wait Restaurants.com has literally saved me hundreds. I first found the site on Groupon when I was looking for fun gift ideas. I have bought so many gift cards and received either a gift card back or paid half the denomination I purchased. Highly recommend this site to anyone who likes saving a buck. Who doesn't want free money?
